I just heard a trailer for The Turn Of The Screw on one of the BBC channels some time soonish.

Sorry, that's a bit vague.

SleightiesChick · 27/12/2009 22:59

The Turn of The Screw is on Wed 30th on BBC1, 9pm. Other than that Fiver USA are showing Christmas films, but they seem to be more of the heartwarming variety than the spooky variety.

RemyMartin · 27/12/2009 23:04

We recorded "Whistle and I'll come to you" a few weeks ago, watched it christmas eve. It's terrifying! Must admit I thought crooked house was very poor though.

LetThereBeRock · 27/12/2009 23:12

They have showed two Spanish short horror films on BBC2 recently. Well one is a ghost story of sorts,it's called 'The Baby's Room' the other is a horror/thriller titled 'To Let'.
I've watched the latter on Iplayer and thought it was excellent. I'm about to watch the other.

LetThereBeRock · 27/12/2009 23:12

They have shown sorry.

VicarInaTinselTuTu · 27/12/2009 23:17

oooo i taped the babys room....am waiting to watch that one with DH. let me know if its any good.

we also taped 'whistle and ill come to you' and bloody DH watched it without me and then deleted it!

not mad on crooked house as i watched it last year anyway.

i love ghost stories but this year seems to have been a bit lacking. i love a good scare at christmas!

'The Baby's Room' is a Spanish horror film. You can watch it on Iplayer here

It's about a couple who have just moved into a new home with their baby. They're given a baby monitor as a gift and soon start hearing some odd noises over it, then they get a video monitor and that reveals some interesting things.

cornysxmasmuffmusic · 27/12/2009 23:38

That sounds so scary!

LetThereBeRock · 27/12/2009 23:40

There's also To Let which is about 'Clara and Mario have been looking for a new home since discovering that Clara is pregnant with their first child. Mario finds an ad in the mailbox for a bargain-priced flat. The couple drive to a derelict block in the suburbs of Madrid to view the apartment. First impressions are not promising, but when the eerily zealous estate agent shows up, Carla and Mario realise that the worst is yet to come'.

That has some mild gore in it. I thought it was excellent and very scary. It's only available until 4:34 am however so if anyone wants to watch it but not tonight you'll have to download it.

maxybrown · 27/12/2009 23:41

ooh yes need to look. We laso need to get a lead to hook the laptop up to the tv me thinks!

LetThereBeRock · 27/12/2009 23:49

10 minutes in and I've just had to switch my lights on again.

VicarInaTinselTuTu · 28/12/2009 00:14

we have both of those taped....ill wait until DH is home then! i want scarey! so thanks!

Let me know what you think of them please.

So far 'The Baby's Room' has been great, but definitely not one to watch alone.

LetThereBeRock · 28/12/2009 00:41

I've just noticed that I've posted the wrong link to 'Lost Hearts' so here's the correct link.

wintera · 28/12/2009 11:22

A few people have already mentioned The Turn of the Screw but I saw a trailer for it recently and it looked quite spooky!

Last year I enjoyed the Larkrise to Candleford special, which was very spooky and also Jonathan Creek too. I like a good scare!
