Good question halfcut - caught Emmerdale the other night and was wondering the same thing as I haven't watched it for years. In fact, I didn't know that Charity had even gone anywhere so was a bit about all the adverts saying she was back!

It was Chris Tate and he was called Christopher originally i think. Zoe Tate paid Charity money to let her bring him up but Zoe lost custody of him. Something like that anyway

noo it was not chris tate or micheal as noah was a baby before she left and chris tate died years befor then he was born when she was seeing tom king and she was sleeping with marlon so who knows???i happen to be a bit of a fan ((sadoo i no lool))

Noah Tate (previously Christopher Francis Tate, Jr.) is the son of Charity and Chris Tate. He appeared from 2004 to 2005. He is due to return later in 2009 when his mother returns.

Noah Tate is born in prison while his mother Charity is jailed for the murder of his father Chris, who had actually committed suicide. His paternity was in doubt, as Charity had been sleeping with her cousins Cain and Marlon as well as her husband, but DNA tests confirmed he was Chris' son. Charity then sells Noah to his aunt Zoe, who names him Christopher after her brother. In exchange for this, Zoe tells the court that Chris had set Charity up for his murder and she is freed. The courts, however, do not allow Zoe to adopt Christopher due to her past mental illness and Charity takes him back. She changes his name back to Noah and leaves the village in 2005.
