I've missed this series as we were away when it started and we've missed too many. I loved th first 2 though. Charles Brandon is very hot and I'm sure I'd have liked Twilight better if he was Edward

PuppyMonkey · 23/09/2009 11:54

I agree, I think the point was being made quite nicely that Anne of Cleves WAS actually perfectly pretty, just a bit unfashionable and not up for runmpy pumpy. I love this series, even if it is a load of old balls!! Do you think they will continue into the other Tudors too?

scampadoodle · 23/09/2009 12:30

Must confess, PuppyMonkey, I haven't watched the latest episode yet - have Sky Plused it. Much as I love this programme, it does spoil it a bit not having Henry as physically repulsive as he would actually have been. PLUS all the paranoia and general beheading... Can you imagine being ordered to marry this man?? The thing is, with JRM in the role you think, "oh I'd risk it for a swiskit". He barely looks older than Princess Mary.

I hope they do the other Tudors too tho there's not much rumpy-pumpy after 'Enery...

PuppyMonkey · 23/09/2009 15:43

Tis a good un scamp!

bluebump · 25/09/2009 17:20

I just checked the tv listings and it's the last one tonight!! Noo! Still, at least that means they'll be another series as they've got a few more wives to get through yet.

BonjourIvresse · 25/09/2009 17:44

Din't Henry have a gammy leg that stopped the rumpy pumpy irl? the tudors version of a serial killer, our henry ;-)

Neon · 25/09/2009 21:36

Woop!

Neon · 25/09/2009 21:40

OMG - Stone made her television debut portraying Henry VIII's fourth wife Anne of Cleves in the current third season of Showtime's series The Tudors, and will reprise the role in the show's final season in 2010.

Nooooo!

bluebump · 25/09/2009 21:55

Yeah, that's AGES away...sulk!

cornsilk · 26/09/2009 09:52

Last one? It's only just started!

bluebump · 26/09/2009 10:17

I know - a measly 6 episodes! I'm sure the other 2 series were twice as long.

cornsilk · 26/09/2009 10:19

Bah!
It ended with a good old execution. That should have been a clue really I suppose.

Squitten · 26/09/2009 15:06

Very grumpy that it's all over now for another year! Definitely going to miss Cromwell in the next series - I thought he was great! Horrid execution, I actually shed a tear (I'm a bit hormonal at the moment... )

So they will be ending it with Henry then in the next series. Probably for the best, they would just ruin it eventually otherwise. Wonder how they'll deal with increasingly ageing Henry?

cornsilk · 26/09/2009 18:14

Yes his execution was boaksome. Wonder if it actually happened like that? Will those that found Catherine Howard suffer the same fate I wonder?

bluebump · 26/09/2009 20:33

According to Wikipedia Joely Richardson plays Henrys final wife Catherine Parr in the next series.

Squitten · 27/09/2009 10:32

Cornsilk: Yes, Cromwell's execution was a botch job but not because the exectutioner was drunk. It was a teenager and he wasn't strong enough to do it in one. Catherine Howard has a better time of it but no posh sword like Anne Boleyn!

TwoIfBySea · 27/09/2009 21:27

Anne of Cleves remained a close "sister" to the King and was there for quite a few important events, as well as Mary's eventual coronation.

Catherine Parr was older than Anne.
