I am.

It's riveting stuff - truly awful, but i can't tear myself away.

All those poor, poor people.

They put these programes on every year.

Make my blood run cold.

But a lot of theose people couldn't get out...they really couldn't.

SlartyBartFast · 07/09/2009 21:59

chilling

FlyMeToDunoon · 07/09/2009 22:00

I still can't believe there was no more effective procedure in place than sending firemen up the stairs.

dizzymare · 07/09/2009 22:01

That's enough for me as well, it's making me feel unwell

mumblecrumble · 07/09/2009 22:01

I was determined not to watch it.

What is it like?

Deemented · 07/09/2009 22:02

Sad. So so sad.

OP posts:
5inthebed · 07/09/2009 22:04

It is very sad mumble. No voice over or anything, just the videos people have taken, with their own commentry (sp?) if any.

Makes me feel like I did watching it on the actual day

Deemented · 07/09/2009 22:13

Oh god no... the first towers just collapsed.

FlyMeToDunoon · 07/09/2009 22:16

Every time the ads come on I realise how tense I am.

Deemented · 07/09/2009 22:18

Seeing it like this is, for me, like seeing it for the first time.

I never saw it happening as i was on a train that day for 7 hours, and only saw the edited bits the news showed.

Sidge · 07/09/2009 22:19

I'm watching it on 4+1 and it's chilling.

The desperation to decide to jump - I just can't imagine

5inthebed · 07/09/2009 22:21

How chilling was that bit in the smoke/dust/flames.

Caz10 · 07/09/2009 22:22

It took me a while to realise...I couldn't understand why all of these people were out in the street when the towers were about to come down...then realised that of course they didn't know....it seems obvious now that that is what happened but can't imagine the terror/shock/disbelief on the day.

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 07/09/2009 22:23

I remember watching it on the telly in shock when it happened. I'd just turned 20 and was at my parents on my day off work. I had flicked the telly over to the news, before the second plane hit and they didn't really know what was happening. I think I was still watching the news when my parents got home hours later in a sense of oh-my-I-dont-believe-this kind of way.

AitchwonderswhoFruitCrumbleis · 07/09/2009 22:23

JEEEE-SUS.

pickyvic · 07/09/2009 22:28

im watching it on Ch 4 plus 1....

just sent me cold. ive never really watched anything about it, just seen the footage that the mum and daughter were taking when the second plane his the second tower, absolutely spine chilling.

AitchwonderswhoFruitCrumbleis · 07/09/2009 22:29

i've only just started watching it, considered switching over to plus one and then just thought that i wouldn't be able to handle it.

5inthebed · 07/09/2009 22:32

I'm just looking at all that dust, and how it must have been to breathe when that happened. It just looks so unreal!

Ponders · 07/09/2009 22:35

I remember watching live, c 2pm UK time, & just finding it impossible to believe it was real

Still do really

AitchwonderswhoFruitCrumbleis · 07/09/2009 22:35

and to think that a lot of the dust was cremated bodies...

Sidge · 07/09/2009 22:37

Me too Ponders - I remember DD1 had just gone down for a nap after lunch and I put the TV on which is odd as I never watch telly in the daytime. I initially thought I was watching a film and then realised it was breaking news.

I find it hard to articulate just how I felt watching it in real time. It was just unreal.

Meglet · 07/09/2009 22:39

Watching on 4+1 too.

I can't even really remember what the world was like before 9/11. It did change everything didn't it.

Ponders · 07/09/2009 22:39

Me neither Sidge, I think I must have turned the TV on after a news bulletin following the Archers at 2.15.
