Anyone watching? Seems weird watching an interview I've seen before but with the benefit of knowing what happened next.

Do you think he was telling the truth about only having two ops on his face?

poshwellies · 16/07/2009 22:10

wasn't at you mollie.

He did have a sad childhood (Shit ,lots of us have a terrible childhoods) but lucky for him he had a talent and had a future career,he decided to get into debt and end up as drug addled mess.

Do you think he was telling the truth about only having two ops on his face?

errrr,what do you think?

gonaenodaethat · 16/07/2009 22:15

I think not. Just wondered what others thought. Strikes me that a lot of people believe everything he said.

TsarChasm · 16/07/2009 22:16

Why the plasters? He often had plasters on his fingers?

Is it a fashion thing or was he just a bit rubbish making packed lunches?

MollieOolala · 16/07/2009 22:17

Think he had a few more than 2 ops but it isn't unusual to lie about plastic surgery!

I can't comprehend living a life like that even with his immense talent. He seemed completely oblivious to reality which I think is understandable if he was getting USD 200,000 cheques every month at the age of 12!

What makes me sad is now his father is trying to snaffle his (MJ's) children and form them into an act. I just hope that someone cares for them and gives them a normal life.

poshwellies · 16/07/2009 22:20

I always wanted to know about the plasters on his fingers.
I saw a photo of Latoya and him both with the finger plasters .

Nancy66 · 16/07/2009 22:26

the frantic leg twitching was probably drug withdrawal.

yappybluedog · 17/07/2009 08:20

I thought I'd read that Martin Bashir was ill, a brain tumour, which is why he has not been heard of for a while

hoppybird · 17/07/2009 16:43

LOL @ TsarChasm! "Is it a fashion thing or was he just a bit rubbish making packed lunches? "

I don't think MJ lied (re: kids' conceptions and surgery) I suspect he presented the truth in a slightly different and pedantic way. Unfortunately, I missed this interview this time round, but as I recall, MJ said his children were a 'gift' from Debbie and were a 'natural conception' "Oh really?" I thought, as I'd recently heard of the GIFT technique (Gamete Intrafallopian Transfer), and yes, it is a natural conception.

Similarly, when MJ is asked about surgery, he claims two necessary surgeries (he had genuinely broken his nose) - possibly (in his own mind) he labelled the other work he had done as 'cosmetic procedures' rather than 'surgery', and Bashir never mentioned any of those.

Well, OK that's just conjecture about the surgery thing, but I'm pretty certain my memory serves me well WRT Debbie's 'gift'. His description of Paris' birth would surely tell you that this lady was a surrogate. But they are certainly 'his' children, I have no doubt that he loved them as much as any parent (natural or adoptive) loves their child, despite the baby dangling and other misguided notions.
