ER and George - slightly disappointing?

Or was it just me? I was expecting Dr Ross to swoop in and have a tearful reunion with Carter? The last of the TV romantics, that's me!

What did the rest of you think?

Indeed, the women used to be good! They actually had proper friendships and relationships. Weaver was a bitch but she was a good character. Carol was a bit of a victim, though I accept that as just her, but she was actually likable. Then ER became The Abby Show and went to hell in a hand basket. I have always loved ER but it should have finished about 5 years ago. Neela and Ray was contrived. She never wanted to be with him until the cracked onto this idea of him with no legs! He mooned after her and she was all over dirty gates and then all of a sudden, when it suits their purposes, she liked him all along! Fancy that!

yes neela is insufferable. I was horrified how she dropped Brenner the second she heard he had serious isshoos... she is so self centered and so insipid!!!

and don't get me started on Abby, i hold her single-handedly responsible for the end of ER, I never understood the point of her, and i couldn't stand her family and the way they were always wheeled out with some tragedy whenever things got a bit boring...

Just finished watching I became very emotional when benton walked in on carter, how he used to hate carter, how times changed. Lovely seeing Dr Ross, although in a new light since you guys have ruined my illision and informed me he is gay!

I was disappointed too. I did hope when the call came at that it would have come out that it was Carter and they could have been in next weeks show.

I thought they spent too much time on Neela and Simon and the narration to camera thing.

TBH it is coming to an end and I think the end will be disappointing and probably not give much closure.

Christ, Clooney looked hot though!

I agree the female characters in recent years have been really annoying. The past ones were strong and likeable.

I was almost expecting a fonzie-like round of applause when Doug Ross graced the scene, but, despite it being a bit understated, I thought it was well done.

And since when has George Clooney been gay?

I'm confused. How many more episodes are there left? Just watched the double bill and remembered why I lurvved Doug Ross, he was so caring.

George Clooney has never done it for me quite the same in anything else

Oh I have watched now and seen Dr Carter.How I love him.He's just so decent really.DH never watched it but I have got him into it and we are rewatching all the old ones on DVD.We have just got to the one where Carter goes into rehab and Benton drops him off.I thought they recaptured the dynamic between them very well in the new ones.DH is loving it BTW

I dont mind Neela but thought it was a bit harsh that she dumped Brenner because he didnt want to tell her he was abused as a child..I mean its not that easy to talk about love, give him a break..I assume she will get together with Ray in the last episode.

I thought Carol actually looked better than she did originally.I never thought she was that attractive and couldnt understand why all the Drs adored her so much.

Anyway, I thought it was good to see that they didn't "break" the codes of ethics, etc....in order to get Clooney/Carter to reunite...would have been to off the wall and unbelievable...
and am glad that they tied all the old characters in in a "reasonable" manner, ratehr than making them all appear as ghosts, etc...lol....

Anyway, I will be very very sad next week when I will be watching the final ever episode...ER has been with me for the past 17 years or so (can't quite remember when it started to be screened in Germany) and it feels almost like an end of an era, iykwim....it just feels weird
But remember feeling almost like this when the final friends episode was shown...and of course life goes on, and there arealways re-runs ....
gosh, I do sound pathetic, eh....

me too cant beleive its ending its been my fave tv prog for so long do you know theres an hour long programme on before it called previously on er? sounds good
