New thread!

OP posts:
Botbot · 08/04/2009 22:17

James has a whiff of Adrian Edmondson about him. DP says Joe Bugner.

mrsmaidamess · 08/04/2009 22:23

Yes I think your dh might be right. Its the starey eyes.

MumOfAPickle · 08/04/2009 22:31

Night night all

Twinklemegan · 08/04/2009 22:37

Why oh why did it not come out in the boardroom that James & Kate said don't over-complicate it! I felt really sorry for James. The product that came back bore no resemblance to what the team had agreed. Ben and Maj were jointly responsible for the terrible decisions made with the designers IMO. But if you ask me, Ben should've been fired for the cringeworthy arse slapping.

MargaretMountford · 08/04/2009 22:59

mrsmaidamess - I thought that (about Lorraine)

thumbbunny · 09/04/2009 01:14

too late to join in but just wanted to praise the "lovechild of Colin and Justin" description of Ben as well.

Was also that Maj went but heyho.

I can't wait for Debra to be on the losing side.

MrsY · 09/04/2009 07:20

Anyone see TAYF? How funny was that thing with Maj and Philip - thought he looked a bit down when Maj didn't come back...

gingerwench · 09/04/2009 10:15

has anyone tried the online predictor game on the bbc site? certainly adds another dimension to the programme. You can vote for the likely person to get fired throughout the programme and see everyone else's votes and how they changed immediately after a stupid comment

BunnyLebowski · 09/04/2009 10:17

Mrsmaidamess - pmsl at Rosa Klebb

Lorraine can't seem to decide where she's from! And she could have washed her hair - the scruffy bint

spenthen · 09/04/2009 11:11

How/when do they film The Apprentice? The tasks always take place in midsummer (leaves on trees, short sleeves, etc. and it's always sunny so there again how could they poss have filmed it in this country over either of the last two years???). Then, last night for example, they were coming out of one of the sport retailers in the dark after one of the pitches, so what time must that have been??

Then they go to the boardroom, back out to the Bridge Cafe in daylight, then back to the boardroom, then when the fired person comes out it's pitch dark and they're always done up in thick coat, scarf etc. so if it's summer they must have to wait until about 11 p.m. to film that bit and why the winter coat??

I don't get it, I can never quite believe it's not all staged. I like it though!!

TrillianEAstraEgg · 09/04/2009 11:11

Just seen it on iplayer. Really don't like James (he always looks like he's going to cry)

They always act happy to see whoever comes back, they haev to because they could be working with them the next week. Deborah is an idiot saying 'you're not my team', next week they might be her team.

TheSynOddOneOfWhitby · 09/04/2009 13:05

I know it's cruel but i spent all night trying to think who one of the blokes reminded me of. Then this morning i realised it was Admiral Ackbar.

TheSynOddOneOfWhitby · 09/04/2009 13:08

It was Howard

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 09/04/2009 17:23

I think it was started filming in Sept last year

LIZS · 09/04/2009 17:26

Those returnign from the boardroom wheel different cases (black matching) away from the office to those they arrive back at the flat with .

spenthen · 09/04/2009 17:49

Oooh LIZS, not noticed that! But I always wonder how the cases get to the boardroom - do they bring them out of the house with them on the second day of the task???

For what it's worth I think they get all the fired candidates back together in autumn/winter and film all the exits on the same night (otherwise how do the winter coats get there??). I seem to remember last year it was always raining when the "firee" was interviewed in the car. (I could have made this up subconsciously though, to support my own argument! But I'll be watching closely this time!! )

mrsmaidamess · 09/04/2009 17:55

Yes they do film all the exits into the waiting black cab at the same time. Hence the buttoned up coats, so we can't see what they are wearing underneath.

They do in Location Location too, to make out the couple are viewing a house the next day when actually they've just taken their coat off. they must think we are eedjits!

BitOfFunnyBunny · 09/04/2009 19:04

I have just seen Debra described memorably on another site as looking rather like "a deflated blow-up doll"...PMSL, cruel, but there's something in it...

LIZS · 09/04/2009 19:11

There was no way Debra could have washed and dried her hair , got made up and ready to go within half an hour ! Who was the dreadful looker who answered the phone - Lorraine ? dh wants to know who was in the white thong

thumbbunny · 09/04/2009 22:36

Would it be too bitchy to point out that Lorraine should not be wearing bold scarlet lipstick? It is way too harsh for her, and accentuates the aginess of her mouth, ime.

MargaretMountford · 09/04/2009 22:43

aginess ?think I know what you mean...I was a bit bothered by her clothes

thumbbunny · 09/04/2009 22:58

sorry, I expect there is a proper word for it but my brain is mostly mush these days - that loss of plumpness and start of lines at the edge of the lips that comes with age (and smoking) - that's what I meant.
I'm a bit bothered by her seeming inability to look in a mirror before she leaves the house - what is she thinking?

MargaretMountford · 10/04/2009 08:23

yes..but I do rather like her for all that !

MaggsS · 15/04/2009 16:50

Only a few more hours to wait
