£40,000 to the cancer charity.

£10,000 to the elder peoples day outs

£10,000 to the woman who baked the cakes and to the wee girl who had cancers family for a holiday

She ought to be rich, you should see how much it costs to get your hair done in one of her places!!!

She didn't speak posh!

girlylala0807 · 05/04/2009 22:19

Ah,

If you mean her prices tis cause I am a poor student from a small town living in the big city!!

PussinJimmyChoos · 05/04/2009 22:20

Do you think people guess?? I mean the format is quite well known now so I'm sure some people must have seen prior episdoes of the secret millionaire....but then even if they do guess, doesn't detract from all the work they do the other 51 weeks of the year with no cameras around

hf128219 · 05/04/2009 22:23

I think some must guess! I love the programme - the work those people did tonight is marvellous.

PussinJimmyChoos · 05/04/2009 22:26

Could that woman bake or what! Imagine living next door to her - I don't think I'd ever leave!

Mooseheart · 05/04/2009 22:28

Puss - (I'm not stalking you honest! ) I think a lot of people do guess, there was one recently where I'm sure the man had been rumbled - the charity worker seemed really keen to go through the finer points of the figures and make it clear how much her charity needed money.

Besides, you could tell from her somewhat startling set of veneers that she was loaded!

hf128219 · 05/04/2009 22:29

Amazing cakes! I would be rather large if I lived next door!

Mooseheart · 05/04/2009 22:30

Yeah, that woman could bake a mean cake! I actually considered how far I would have to travel to go to one of her sales and stock up the freezer. (My baking is shit)

AbleSister · 05/04/2009 22:31

her teeth wre like tombstones

pmsl at Mooseheart!

Yes her teeth were very ahem..bright...but she was sooo nice though! I liked last week's as well - bloke was well 'ard mitchell style type bloke but blubbing over the war veterans - had me welling up too!

Mooseheart · 05/04/2009 22:35

Yeah I cried at that one too, I think that was the most moving one I've seen.

hf128219 · 05/04/2009 22:38

Yep - last weeks was brilliant - particularly 'Donna's House'.

PussinJimmyChoos · 05/04/2009 22:40

Donna's House got me - and the end of the prog they put the date that the little boy died...I couldn't see the screen after that! So many people doing good that you just don't hear about - its lovely to see

hf128219 · 05/04/2009 22:44

People were just so pleased to go there - so simple, but to them the respite/change of scenery was everything. It makes you count your lucky stars.

PussinJimmyChoos · 05/04/2009 22:45

I think talking to other people going through the same thing must help too...

I was tonight when the carer of the lady with Alzhiemers (sp!) said how much carers save the government per year...its pretty disgusting really when you think about how many people are probably coping day in and day out without any respite!

hf128219 · 05/04/2009 22:48

Oh god yes - it must be so hard. That chap (Granville) tonight must have savoured those couple of hours break for a pint and a chat.

PussinJimmyChoos · 05/04/2009 22:49

I think when I've finished with the child rearing (sounds as if I'm a baby farm! lol) I'd like to do some work like that - must be so rewarding having people appreciate what you do instead of a line manager saying no bonus, credit crunch etc!
