what channel?

cornsilk · 29/03/2009 20:43

Why is this film meant to be sad? I have tried to watch it twice but thought it was so slow moving.

nappyzonecannotcycleuphill · 29/03/2009 20:50

it was on channel 4 - i thought it was about a group of people walking up a mountain - it so was not!

its a shit film - however you can get it on 4 O.D. - you have to download it to your pc but its fairly simple after that

princessmel · 29/03/2009 21:17

It is a totally amazing film. Once you get the hang of what they are saying. It's so touching and heart wrenching.

I love it.

It is so sad. I cried for ages after watching it.

nappyzonecannotcycleuphill · 29/03/2009 21:18

ooooooo at a cost of 1.99 ! i will wait till its on again for that!

I loved it. Saw it quite recently and watched the beginning again last night. Such a true love story (I think). DH cried more than me!

saggyhairyarse · 29/03/2009 21:53

I was sobbing last night.

It is a beautiful love story sob

gemmiegoatlegs · 29/03/2009 21:55

i thought it was a bit pants. i'd really wanted to see it and had it on my lovefilm list, I watched it on TV last night and didn't find it at all touching (although I don't mind Heath and Jake sans shirts)

Shoshe · 29/03/2009 22:02

i went to see it when it came out, and have watched it countless times on DYD, i still cry everytime best Film ever made IMO

janeite · 29/03/2009 22:04

Worst film ever made imho, along with The Piano!

MrsMattie · 29/03/2009 22:05

I loved it. I felt deeply uncomfortable watching the first 45 mins or so and didn't like it at all. By the end I was sobbing my eyes out. I love Heath Ledger

francagoestohollywood · 29/03/2009 22:18

I agree with The Piano!!

ilovemyghds · 30/03/2009 19:16

People seem quite divided on this one! Thought they both acted so well in it. Even my dad said he thought it was a brilliamt love story.

candyfluff · 30/03/2009 19:44

i loved it

NotSoRampantRabbit · 30/03/2009 19:47

I love it AND The Piano.

Let's not go to the cinema Janeite!

janeite · 30/03/2009 21:25

I'm afraid I like my films to be shallow and 80s-ish like The Breakfast Club, or with Regency gowns!

JodieO · 30/03/2009 21:27

One of the worst films I've ever seen.

I've tried to watch it twice. It just bores me silly.

NotSoRampantRabbit · 30/03/2009 21:36

Oh well maybe then...

Breakfast Club one of my all time faves and am always up for a Jane Austen adaptation.

I am very shallow with the odd hidden depth.

janeite · 30/03/2009 22:10

Okay - you are forgiven!

Littlepurpleprincess · 01/04/2009 14:57

I really liked this film. It's very slow, could've been better but I agree with the moral and it's a great love story, made me cry anyway...

Flamesparrow · 01/04/2009 15:00

I love Heath. I cried. But I wouldn't watch it again - it was just too slow.

Nappyzone - you can always watch the bunnies do it in 30 seconds?

Flamesparrow · 01/04/2009 15:02

(bunnies will tell you the ending btw - be warned)

(with less in the way of tears though )
