they lost the 5% deposit as their sale in england fell through and the quotes for renovation came in ay 300000 pounds!they just couldn't afford it

NomDePlume · 21/04/2005 10:55

I didn't see it. Normally I love it but I caught the trailer for it and also the last 5 mins and the couple looked like a right pair of PITA, glad I missed it.

throckenholt · 21/04/2005 10:57

I think it was about £5000 they lost.

They pulled out because the renovation quote was huge. But then their house sale also fell through so they would have had to pull out anyway.

NDP they were a pain they had big ideas but not enough money much like the rest of us!Was even more put off them as dp thought she was foxy(his words) he is getting no sex for at least a month for that!

NomDePlume · 21/04/2005 10:59

He was okay, bit dull - she came across as a right dizzy mare and seemed to be expecting to get some fabulous chateau for her £100K... [rolls eyes]

I reckon that range in your kitchen is plenty big enough to shove DP into, noddy . Bring him to his senses !

They lost £5k. Apparently in France there is a cooling off period between having the offer acepted and signing contacts with deposit. They should have got a builder's quote in the intervening period (10 days) so that they had an option to pull out at no cost but instead they went back to work, returned to France to sign contracts then got a quote of over 300k euros which they couldn't afford obviously. So they pulled out forfeiting their 5k deposit. Then the sale of their own house fell through so they would n't have been able to proceed anyway.
