Why do people always build visitor centres instead of homes?

hifi · 04/03/2009 23:34

i thought the architect was a woman at first.i loved the larder, and the bathroom sinks, wonder which make they were? they were sooo organised.saw a re run of that dreadful one in clapham, wedged between two council blocks, who the hell would buy it off them when you have seen how it was thrown up.

Missed this last night - and missed you lot too

Caught the last 20 mins on 4+1. Just can't deicde if I liked it or not. The staircase was amazing and I liked the kitchen.

I think I agree with the "visitor centre" comments

I set up this thread then DH insisted I close the laptop whilst watching it! I liked it a lot but I think they could have injected a bit more personality into the interior - it felt like they were building a bland farmhouse so they could sell it. Why didn't the wife get a bit more interesting art for the interior? I also loved the architect's hair, it was a bit 1970's children's TV presenter-ish.

The architect's hair was a homage to Tony Hart!

I assumed the children were at boarding school.
It was rather nice to watch an episode where everyone was competent and no-one fell out with anyone. Pity the house was so ugly from the outside.
