There is a boys house and a girls house with primary age kids left to live without adults...quite a lot of bullying goes on apparently with no intervention...sounds exploitative to me but I will be interested to watch! C4 at 9pm tonight

The part that I noticed was when Sid said to his mum

"I wanted to do it to see if you would miss me"

ChiefMangosuthuButhelezi · 06/02/2009 12:27

Oh, I don't know. I'm quite looking forward to next week and watching them attempting to smoke. One of the camera crew should at least say 'look girls, if you're going to do it at least do it properly and inhale'

Sid should have stayed, I thought he was alright, especially with the super soakers full of paint.

The part that I noticed was when Sid said to his mum

"I wanted to do it to see if you would miss me"

What I meant was that it seemed that he felt he was ignored at home and wanted to see if his mum would miss him not being around

ChiefMangosuthuButhelezi · 06/02/2009 12:45

Sids mum kept talking over him, that was annoying, and his dad didn't say anything at all! Probably can't get a word in with 'mother' prattling on.

Podrick · 07/02/2009 10:38

One of the bullying older girls was interviewed on TV and said that she had had a great time and really missed it - her mother said it had been a great experience.

my son (yr6) has been asked to watch it for school (part of SEAL apparently!) Given I don't want to watch it myself....

RTKangaMummy · 10/02/2009 21:08

LOL @ girls taking 45 mins to direct the driver 300 yards

Whereas boys are giving directions to town

I didn't see last week, I did see last night. I thought it was terrific, DH & I kept laughing at the way the kids see things. I'd put DS1 (9yo) in there in a heartbeat. He'd love it and he's the sort of child who responds well to being given responsibility. He could also use some enforced lessons in teamwork. From what I saw, I can't agree with any of the criticisms I've read on this thread. All of the children came off well, Eg: Charley who could be bullying and insensitive at times was also quite vulnerable and just trying to figure out how to get things done. The rivalry between Adetoro and TJ might evolve into a more democracy.

Can't see how any of the children are any diffrent from typical adults (nastiness, rivalry, etc.) Far less so, truly.

(lljkk runs away for cover now)

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/02/2009 10:29

agree the bit with sid and his mum was sad

have come to the conclusion that TJ is just as bad as the black boy(amardillo - or something like that) as in the fact TJ is a bully

and what is the craze with the sweet cigs?

VictorianSqualor · 12/02/2009 10:32

The poor girl who felt she had kept her mum's affair a secret.

mybabywakesupsinging · 15/02/2009 21:57

exploitative. where is the informed consent here?

completely unethical.
would NEVER get ethical approval if it were actual science.

will not watch (don't want them to notch up another viewer).

agree with the letters published in the Times on Saturday.

mummyloveslucy · 18/02/2009 09:18

I thought those older girls were totally obnoxious and nasty.
They picked on the poor little red headed girl who was trying desperatly to make friends. This little girl even woke up early to make them all breakfast but none of them thanked her, if fact they moaned that it tasted horrible.
I was really horrified to think that 10 year old girls are like this. My daughter is really loving, thoughtfull and polite, would that make her an out cast when she's with other 10 year old girls?
That would be a long way off as she's only 4.
Please tell me that this is not a reflection of most 10 year old girls.

LynetteScavo · 18/02/2009 09:24

I've only caught a bit of this - but I saw them camping. I'm pretty sure those fires had been lit for them, and there were 3 blokes in vizzy vests standing in the background. What was that about?

fimac1 · 18/02/2009 14:40

hi is this shown again in the week as this weeks recording failed

Thanks

MuffinToptheMule · 20/02/2009 15:00

I loved this show and I am looking forward to the next one.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/02/2009 19:10

how come the boys had to catch theirs, yet the girls got given their food?

yes they had to skin it, but thought it was unfair

the 3 blokes in jackets are the security/make sure kids are ok, they are there but dont interfere unless have to

filmac1 watch here

pingping · 24/02/2009 16:17

I don't think its that bad its good to see how ill mannered modern day children really are some of them need a good kick. Watch how that little boy picked up a knife the other week and we wonder why there is so many young lifes being taken in the capital

The parents should be ashamed of themselves If my child was in there I would of gone in there by now and had a few words.

FYI there is adults in the house if the children need them they did state that the other week.
