I was wondering if anyone here knew when the new series starts? I'm in need of a Winchester fix.

OP posts:

Hi Meridian: Thanks for that, I have been watching a couple of episodes of Season 2 on catch up - will tune in tonight - can't wait

serenity · 06/08/2009 20:24

waves and sobs

Goodbye! Farewell! We're moving tomorrow, so that's it for the internet for at least 2 weeks (Tiscali = pita and slow, might swap to Sky) Might be able to get on to check emails at MILs (if I sit on the edge of the sofa and hold the laptop at an angle I can piggyback the wifi of someone too stupid foolish to bother with security...

Don't do anything too exciting whilst I'm gone

meridian · 10/08/2009 19:03

sets fresh pie on the alter

Sandy22 · 22/08/2009 17:02

Meridian - Wow thanks for that - loved the song as well.

I'm still watching Series 1 which has just started again - feel so lucky that I still have 2, 3 & 4 to watch

ThisIsWhyYouWereToldNotTo · 22/08/2009 17:48

I'm enjoying the going back to the start too

serenity · 23/08/2009 10:16

I watched some of season 1 recently, and they looked so young.

That promo is fabulous - saw it when I got home from work on friday night. Watched it 4 or 5 times in a row despite it being 1 in the morning I really really can't wait for September. Sadly, I've actually arranged to go to someone's house on the Friday morning so I can watch it with company - I feel like a teenager, we're going to sit and squeal together! (We watched the finale together, so it's fitting to watch the opener too!)

OMG WHY ISN'T IT SEPTEMBER YET?!?

serenity · 23/08/2009 10:20

Re Wendigo - I love watching older episodes and seeing things that reflect in the newer ones (they're very good with their back stories/continuity on Supernatural) but it makes me laugh with Dean saying he doesn't do shorts, as then it makes me want to go and look at pictures of him in his 'plum smuggler' shorts (I was given a tea coaster made from a picture of him in that particular look...)

ThisIsWhyYouWereToldNotTo · 23/08/2009 10:34

NO WISHING AWAY AUGUST!!!

I have limited weeks left ladies - you lot wanting Sept too early is not nice. Enjoy the anticipation

serenity · 23/08/2009 11:23

You've got until October... Couple of weeks won't make that much of a difference (bit nervous?)

What have we decided to do about viewing S5 btw? I'm more than happy to spread the joy, iyswim, but we need to finalise the logistics.

ShowOfHands · 23/08/2009 11:34

If somebody could just explain the damn logistics to me it'd be a start...

Who do I need to pay? What's the currency?

serenity · 23/08/2009 11:48

Generally, if someone wants to send me a USB flash drive I can transfer stuff and send it back (every week, or couple of weeks - one episode is roughly 350MB) or I can burn a disc and send that (DH says blank discs aren't that expensive) Disc would still only be PC compatible though.

Or I could give a quick tutorial (offline if you like) on the delicate art of BitTorrent and the joys of places like Mininova, so you can DIY (PITA if you haven't got decent broadband though)

I'm happy with any of them.

ThisIsWhyYouWereToldNotTo · 23/08/2009 12:00

so we're not going with the bunker plan?

(I have nothing sorted! From basics like somewhere to sleep the kid, to things that could affect its life like being called "Nameless Powell" at school...)

ShowOfHands · 23/08/2009 12:11

You know two out of my three degrees are in English, and part of each in linguistics. Flash Drive? Does Not Compute. BitTorrent. Now DH knows what that is but we live in the middle of nowhere and our Broadband is geriatric.

We're are still doing the bunker plan. I've dug a tunnel and everything.

They used to put babies in drawers you know...

serenity · 23/08/2009 12:40

Memory stick = USB Flash Drive

I like the Bunker idea, but sadly as I've now moved from a ground floor flat to a second floor flat, the bunker digging isn't really working out.

Flame - SIL has just had her first, three weeks early. She was scarily prepared (although also didn't have anywhere for DN to sleep) She even had a bag packed!

Can we vote on the name? Sam is a good boys name (and girls actually)

ThisIsWhyYouWereToldNotTo · 23/08/2009 13:02

Spn related names are banned.

As are Buffy/Angel related.

Actually I seem to recall throwing in Kayleigh and Serenity early on in the proceedings, so I guess we can wipe out anything Joss related too.

Drawer method is seeming tempting. As is wash basket, and just pretending we have planned to co-sleep

I remember Psycho being horrified last time that I had no hospital bag packed as I was planning a home birth. I didn't, and still can't tbh see what was hard about grabbing a nightie, nappies and some babygrows off the side on the way out the door. If it was an emergency situation I wasn't going to give a sh*t what I had with me, and if it wasn't, then I could sort it at the time. Obv then I did have some babygrows...

serenity · 23/08/2009 14:32

Do you know what you're having? (Apart from 'a baby') I'm surrounded by pregnant women atm and have forgotten who knows what!

With DS1 I packed a bag ages before my due date, and then the sod enchanting child was overdue, as was DS2. I think I packed DD's as I was about to leave for the hospital We co-slept from birth (because they weren't having hysterics about co-sleeping with newborns at the time) and didn't get around to building cots for ages. We're pretty crap at being organised!

Oh god, completely off topic - MTV2 is showing Foo Fighters 'Walking after you' video, and Dave Grohl is making my stomach do somersaults (I love this song so damn much)

ThisIsWhyYouWereToldNotTo · 23/08/2009 17:17

Nope, just "a baby"

I don't recall being overly organised with DD either tbh

meridian · 26/08/2009 12:59

Flame: um I cant recall having a hospital bag either... my waters broke at midnight with DS and only had what I was wearing and random thigns from the shelf... I know you have nappies... and I'm sure you have a blanket.. what else do you need? really? as I got the freaking flu while in hospital with DS he just stayed in nappies and a blanket for 3 days.. he didn't mind.. will probably come to visit you in october so tell me what you NEED/WANT for you/baby as I will bring pressies...

I want the musics for that promo.. will it be on itunes or more illicit means of acquisition...

I want to watch SPN with somebody..

serenity · 26/08/2009 13:11

That version of the song was written just for the promo apparently, but I hear it'll be available for download at some stage - I'll link if I see it.

I'd watch SPN with you, but you don't live in the centre of the universe (ie London) so it's a bit of a trek... don't think I could manage it between school runs Maybe one day we could arrange a 'watch SPN' meetup?

MmmEggs · 26/08/2009 13:25

I want a sleepsuit/outfit the same as THIS - it has been my quest since getting pregnant with DD . Good luck with that

Is cheesecake transportable?

By October I will either be too huge to waddle anywhere or will be attached to small child feeding, so we can sit and watch oodles of Spn together

serenity · 26/08/2009 13:49

It's deliverable...

meridian · 26/08/2009 16:21

I once trasported a keylime pie from Derbyshire to a location somewhere in the Cotswalds... but I can always take over somones kitchen with consent.

hmmm yes I think we will have to have a SPN meet up sometime.. though that may possibly cause the appocalpyse.. and it will be a good thing Show has been building that bunker.

MmmEggs · 26/08/2009 16:35

I do like the cheesecake site But no, it needs to be a Meridian one (or 6). You would find my kitchen very lacking in utensils
