Did anyone see this?

It was the most godawful thing I've ever seen. Based on a book by Sarah Waters who wrote Fingersmith, also adapted for T.V.

I would just like to warn anyone thinking of reading a Sarah Waters book or watching an adaptation of one of her books - please do not bother. They are an insult to intelligence. And a waste of my evening!

Glad it wasn't just me who thought this! The book is fantastic, although if anyone just watched it, it's spoilt the end!

i've recorded it. should i just not bother then? (love sarah waters books btw)

Eh, I really liked it - more than the other two Waters adapts, anyway. Had a nice gloomy atmosphere. And lots of funny beards.

I enjoyed it,but was a bit freaky. The phone rang at 10.30pm (bloody DH from upstairs, asking when I was coming to bed ), and I nearly jumped out of my skin!

Not read the book though.

I love her books too. I thought Tipping the Velvet was a far better adaptation than Affinity and that's my least favourite of all of her books. I've never seen Fingersmith if that has been adapted for TV yet.
