Myleene takes over from Nicky at 10 Years Younger - contradiction with Miss Naked Beauty?

Did anyone see today's Daily Mail here

Apparently, the bosses at 10 Years Younger have replaced Nicky Hambleton-Jones with Myleene Klass.

I've never been a fan of NHJ, but at least she isn't a hypocrite like Myleene. It was only last night we saw Myleene on the show Miss Naked Beauty singing the joys of no make-up, no cosmetic surgery, no hair dye etc. Has the woman no shame?

I don't know how she has got the brass front to move from one show to the other!
Made me laugh last night that Myleene was prancing round with loads of make up on while persuading others that it is not needed.

Lizzylou · 05/11/2008 11:36

Ming, that was exactly what I thought.
Myleene was caked in warpaint, what was the point in that?

Booboobedoo · 05/11/2008 11:38

Yes, but you must have noticed by now that Myleene is a Meeja Whore.

A nice one perhaps, but the woman will do anything to be on telly.

MingMingtheWonderPet · 05/11/2008 11:40

I really don't think it has been a good move for Myleene being on Miss Naked Beauty, comes across very hypocritical
10 Years Younger has loads of cosmetic surgery etc, what will Gok say?

I like her too, Ruby. It's just daft that she was on a show extolling the virtues of "naked beauty" with a face full of slap (where all other girls were makeup free/being encouraged to go make up free).

nancy75 · 05/11/2008 11:42

i hope you lot realise you are having a go at the only woman in the entire world ever to have a BABY! HOW COULD YOU!

MrsThierryHenry · 05/11/2008 11:43

Yes, I love the fact that on Miss NB they've plastered her in more slap than you'll find in a department store beauty counter in an effort to give her a 'natural' look!

Can I also give three cheers to the very brave petite lady on last week's show who had tummy stretch marks but still allowed them to be photographed? Hip hip HOORAY and well done, sister!!!

MrsThierryHenry · 05/11/2008 11:47

Not to say that I don't like Myleene, she seems very sweet, though she also has a touch of the passive-aggressive in her judging by her response to the mouthy barrister last week. I mean, honestly - how dare she have flaws?

PuppyMonkey · 05/11/2008 11:50

No offence to Myleene or anything, but Ten Years Younger is not gonna be the same without NHJ's crap accent and dubious taste in clothing. Gave me a right larf every week. What ARE they thinking...?

No mention of Gok's heavy make-up on Miss Naked Bueaty either... and the judges on the panel. It is a very crap show, non?

Maiakins · 05/11/2008 11:53

The programme (Miss NB) is crazily misguided. Gok flatters and encourages women into v. vulnerable positions (naked, no make-up, showing all their body hang-ups) and then, what? A judging panel tears their personalities apart. I felt so sorry for some of these women - the last 10 minutes in particular were humiliating. I have lost any respect I ever had for Myleene being in this nonsense.

Lol at nancy75! I agree, give the woman a tiny bit of experience and suddenly she's an expert! She has a baby and suddenly she's a parenting expert and children's clotheswear designer. She has a bash at presenting MNB and now she's a fashion expert qualified to advise women on 10YY!

Like Mylene but COME ON WOMAN - haven;t you heard that absence makes the heart grow fonder???? am getting a bit sick of you being all over TV, a bit like Jimmy Carr was a few years ago.

So, d'ya think NHJ ever guessed the title of her show would also be the description of the person who pushed her out of her job????

MingMingtheWonderPet · 05/11/2008 12:03

PuppyMonkey - So true about Gok wearing loads of make-up last night too! That made me laugh.

Maiakins - Very true about how Gok flatters women into v vunerable positions. 'Hey girlfiend, you look fierce'

TheCrackFox · 05/11/2008 12:51

No wonder MK was telling us, just the other week, how exhausted she is. She is never off the bloody telly.

I am sick to death of "experts" on TV telling us how to look, what to eat, where to live, blah, blah, blah. You get much more practical advice from the Style and Beauty section of MN.

Flibbertyjibbet · 05/11/2008 13:03

I didn't see the last bit of mnb last night - we came across it by accident, it took me 10 mins to work out that MK was wandering round in a face of slap whilst telling other women they didn't need it, so I mumbled 'hypocrite' for a few minutes then switched over.

I would prefer someone a bit older on 10yy - as a 46 year old I find that youngsters have no concept of how things start to sag, how easy it is to get stuck in a clothing/hair/makeup rut.

Mylene telling older ladies how to look and dress? Fark off luv.

MrsThierryHenry · 05/11/2008 14:12

I agree about the judges on MNB - have only seen last week's ep but they were AWFUL to that poor Qladia, really horrible. Surely they must have known about what she's been through? What idiot selected those three for the panel anyway? Kathy Lette was cynical (which she always is); James Brown was an arse (which he always is); and Mica Paris in particular deserves a good slapping for the way she roughed her up (and I'm a fan of Mica).

Even though I think MNB comes across as a cheap derivative of the hilariously brilliant America's Next Top Model, I hope Qladia gets through to winning the title of MNB just to show how little those judges know.
