He doesn't get leave!

Everything would grind to a halt without him! He's already won Waterloo, you see, and now he has to come out of retirement to sort out India...

Gingerbear · 02/11/2008 21:07

@ India.
I know what he should be sorting out next......

slayerette · 02/11/2008 21:08

He was looking a bit

old, wasn't he??

But still does it for me....

JackieNo · 03/11/2008 20:24

I didn't think he was looking that bad, tbh. He was always pretty rough around the edges, so I don't think age has withered him too much .

roisin · 03/11/2008 20:33

How old do you think he should look fgs?

He was born in April 1959, so he's 50 next year.
I think he's wearing pretty well!
Would do for me any day

Romy7 · 04/11/2008 10:29

he can ditch the petulant blonde dolly though. he'll go right down in my estimation.

slayerette · 04/11/2008 19:20

Romy - ditch the petulant blonde dolly from the programme or the real-life one? of Mrs Bean...

roisin - I wasn't suggesting he should look younger than his years as much as I was mourning for the passing of the Sharpe of the 90s - Sharpe in his prime. He just looks a bit knackered and fed up with the soldiering now as a character. (Saw a pap shot of SB recently, on the other hand, and he's looking fine still!)

And I still so would!

Gingerbear · 06/11/2008 00:16

See - I old you he was due some R'n'R

JackieNo · 09/11/2008 20:53

Second part tonight at 9...

JackieNo · 09/11/2008 20:59

Any minute now .

phdlife · 09/11/2008 20:59

compared to Harper I think Sharpe is holding his own pretty well indeed. now if only he'd hold my own too

JackieNo · 09/11/2008 21:18

That petticoat she was almost wearing was a bit on the sheer side, wasn't it .

slayerette · 09/11/2008 21:40

Harper has kidney stones...how are the mighty fallen!

DH made an approving comment on the wetness of that petticoat

slayerette · 09/11/2008 21:41

Someone's going to end up delivering that baby aren't they? My money's on Harper...

JackieNo · 09/11/2008 22:08

Nah - just after the opposing force has turned tail and run, the one who helped with the kidney(?) stones will deliver it, and in the sudden silence after all the gunshots we'll hear the baby's cry.

slayerette · 09/11/2008 22:17

Sharpe always gets his ensigns killed, doesn't he?

And I hope kidney stone/cannon guy doesn't get killed...

JackieNo · 09/11/2008 22:28

Well I was close on the silence/baby thing, but wrong about the rest.

slayerette · 09/11/2008 22:29

But we got the traditional look over the shoulder just as the credits roll

frostyfingers · 10/11/2008 12:09

What I want to know is how the heck did she keep that white dress/nightie thing so damn white - what washing powder was she using.....
