Richard Armitage will be in it

OP posts:
JODIEhadababy · 27/10/2008 15:02

I think she is, Chris Moyles seems to be hinting that way, he visited the set not so long back

tonton · 27/10/2008 15:51

have never watched spooks but as I richard armitage only has to breathe for me to collapse in swooning fits of lust i will certainly be watching now!

I just had to buy a new copy of North & South (recent drama not old crap from states years back) as old one too knackered!!

roisin · 27/10/2008 16:08

Are you me tonton?
I know all the camera angles, the script and the music score from North & South
What is your favourite scene?

mummydoc · 27/10/2008 16:10

i really don't think that adam could have killed jo, i am not sure he could stand the emotional angst fgs, his wife died in his arms, he had unresolved issues with ros and then got tangle dup with the diplomats wife, all while having psychological issues throughout the last series, if he then has jos death on his hands the poor man would be carted of to the nearest loony bin ( he feels responsible for jo as he enticed her into the service in the first place and secretly she is in lov ewith him) oh i cannot wait until 9 pm

tonton · 27/10/2008 16:21

Oh my goodness roisin...that depends on my mood. trhere's the 'do you want me to play the overbearing master' scene on the factory steps. Ooh and the hands touching at teatime scene! How about you!!

glitterfairy · 27/10/2008 16:30

My brother writes spooks I will tell him there is a fan club on here, he will be really pleased!

My dd loves hermione she is her role model and he got her a signed photo which is framed and sits in her room by her mirror!

finknottle · 27/10/2008 16:40

Urgh, that scene with Jo & Adam haunted me for days - never know that before or since with a TV programme. She wasn't alert at the end & I thought he had killed her. Never liked her tbh but thought the scene was excellently acted, if grim.
Most of the interpersonal stuff was done well, imo, and much more interesting than "only just 10 mins to save the world" plot-lines.

finknottle · 27/10/2008 16:42

Oooh glitterfairy how exciting

Tell him the writing is excellent!

FimboGotAxed · 27/10/2008 16:45

I want Ruth to come back and snog the face off Harry.

Sad RPJ is leaving - could he not take over the M & S ads from wifie?

FimboGotAxed · 27/10/2008 16:46

Glitterfairy's brother - please write Ruth back in to snog Harry.

JODIEhadababy · 27/10/2008 16:52

Glitterfairy better still write me in to snog Adam before he leaves!!!

roisin · 27/10/2008 17:17

tonton - I think my favourite scenes are between Thornton and Higgins. The one where Higgins has told him that Margaret's dad has died and he goes into the works dining, and you just see Thornton's fist clenching and his knuckles turning white and his jaw tightening.

I also love the final scene in the factory where Higgins hands Thornton the petition, and then tells him with a wry smile about Frederick, and you watch the dawning realisation as he puts two and two together.

Ooh I could go on... I love the moment in the scene in the empty factory with Margaret in her beautiful smart new dress, when the music starts playing. (Is it a harp? I think it's a harp.)

glitterfairy · 27/10/2008 17:39

LOl Guys! For my 40th he let me into all the secrets in series two but I couldnt tell anyone so that spoilt it and I have never asked since!

I will tell him everyone wants Ruth back! Although I am not sure about Harry getting snogged, I like that he is soulful and sad.

My brother is really working on other stuff these days (he wrote and created the fixer) but he wrote the last episode of the last series.

What is weird is when I recognise characters or scenarios from our life.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 27/10/2008 17:43

Can I join the club?

I'm sooo excited about the new series I've even told my brand new chap who I haven't seen for a fortnight that tonight AND tomorrow night I'm busy.

mummydoc · 27/10/2008 17:43

glitter fairy ....what an exciting brother ...mine works as a fund raiser for a charity - worhty but hardly exciting you are sooooo lucky ( i once worked as the medical supervisor for casualty does thta count as show bizzy and exciting )

glitterfairy · 27/10/2008 17:56

LOl mummydoc, I am not sure I think it is that exciting.

He writes novels as well and the biggest buzz I ever got was going into waterstones and finding one of them on the shelf which was dedicated to me!

I love Spooks (which is good) and am sorry he is not as involved as he was this series or last but I guess he would always move on to other things in the end anyway. I like the Fixer which is being filmed now.

JODIEhadababy · 27/10/2008 18:50

glitterfairy Which ones the Fixer, I think I;ve heard of ot, but not sure.

Moominpappa · 27/10/2008 21:09

DW was good friends with Richard Armitage at school, they played in a trio together (RA used to play the 'cello).

Since then we've been along to see him in things at Stratford (before he made it to telly), but she never got back in contact with him and thinks that to do so now would be a bit crass now given his meteoric rise to stardom.

Heated · 27/10/2008 21:37

I'm a bit behind the plot having missed the last of the last series and the beginning of this, argh (damn John Prescott)!

Were Adam & Jo tortured? They clearly survive as am looking at them now, but a bit bemused by the meaningful conversations between Adam & Jo.

RA is very pretty.

Heated · 27/10/2008 21:54

nooooooooo Adam!

glitterball · 27/10/2008 21:59

sob

they didnt have to kill him off

florenceuk · 27/10/2008 22:07

if only they could have kept him for just a few more episodes

Scootergrrrl · 27/10/2008 22:09

Perhaps Glitterfairy could have asked her brother to send lovely Adam to be "tortured" by a group of MN fanatics instead of being blown up. If only we'd got there in time.....

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 27/10/2008 22:23

OMG!!! This is what I love/hate about Spooks. Killing 'em off like that. But RPJ was very pretty in his bits. And for the first time ever, I liked Roz. More

But ain't RA lovely? As a long term RA-fancier, he's more than than a fitting replacement to RPJ. He's even got the jokes in already. Wanting is chips, taking a dig at Eton. Luvin' it.

Question is, I have a VERY hot date tomorrow night, with no Skyplus or video recorder. What's the etiquette on turning on the tv to watch RA?

They still need to bring back Ruth though.

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 27/10/2008 22:24

major gasp at Adam being blown up ... if ros hadn't turned up and held him back for those few seconds he might have made it ... sniff

however being the fickle frivolous flighty woman that i am, bring on the truly yummy Richard ... love the tattoos!!
