I don't know who that actor playing Mr Darcy is and last week I didn't think he was right at all, but this week, very swoonsome.

I can't wait until next week to find out what will happen.

Anyone else feel the same ?

I'll watch it, but I don't think I like it much really.

MaryBS · 17/09/2008 22:09

Me me me!!!!

rookiemater · 17/09/2008 22:10

well I wasn't that into it last week and missed the first episode, but this weeks was so good, loving all the plot changes. I think its very clever.

madlentileater · 17/09/2008 22:12

yes, cleverer than I expected

avenanap · 17/09/2008 22:13

My mum phones so I missed most of tonights.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 17/09/2008 22:16

I'm loving this so much. It's so funny, and clever - I haven't laughed this much in ages. I thought the end was really sad.
And I agree with you Rookie about Darcy. The switch on Whickham's pretty clever too.
I can't wait for next week.

Freckle · 17/09/2008 22:21

I loved the bit where she made him get in the pond to recreate the wet Darcy. I think it's very clever and impossible to tell where the next plot twist will be. Strange that we don't get to see what Elizabeth is up to in 21st C Hammersmith.

rookiemater · 17/09/2008 22:28

Oh I know Freckle, I'm hoping that Elizabeth Bennets exploits will make up the next series.

DH was watching it with me and at the end I said " Wasn't that fabulous, didn't you really enjoy it ? " and he replied " It's very you dear". Hmmmm.

Maybe we'll get a follow-up series - Elizabeth in Hammersmith?
The wet shirt was just fab. A brilliant touch.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 17/09/2008 22:33

Snap Rookie.
I now have to lend my dvd of P&P (the Kiera one) to a girl in the office whose never seen or read it - a shocker, I assumed everyone knew it!

PortBlacksandResident · 17/09/2008 22:37

Thank God for good reviews guys.

DH and i had decided we were the only people in the world watching this.

Loved it!

How many more are there?

Hassled · 17/09/2008 22:38

Yes - Darcy was just too smouldering at the start but is perfect now, as is Bingley. I'm really enjoying this - still wish we could see Lizzie in Hammersmith.

Remotew · 17/09/2008 22:43

I'm watching it. Cannot wait to see what happens.

justneedsomesleep · 17/09/2008 22:46

I did like it but at the same time, think it's getting all a little silly too - Caroline Bingley?

Oh and poor Mr Wickam - hope he and Amanda get together.

Am i right - there's only next weeks episode left?

Jennster · 17/09/2008 22:46

I was rofl at this episode. What would Jane Austen think of the Saphic poetry?

PortBlacksandResident · 17/09/2008 22:47

Do you think you would enjoy it as much if you didn't know the plot inside out?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 17/09/2008 22:49

Inside out, back to front and upside down.
But the girl I work with is enjoying it too, so I'm trying not to be patronising.

DisasterAreaIsOffToCostaRica · 17/09/2008 22:50

bugger - missed it. is it repeated soon?

mamhaf · 17/09/2008 23:13

Tis fab - much more enjoyable if you know the plot of P&P...even so, dh, who's never read a word of it, is enjoying it too.

Do you know any woman who's read Austen who didn't fancy the pants off Darcy? The references to Bridget Jones (wet shirt) and the novel are just brilliant.

Do you think Jane's marriage will be dissolved because it's unconsumated?

I can't see Elizabeth in Hammersmith having enough of a plot...the best bits in this series are seeing how the familiar characters turn out. Can't wait for next week.

PortBlacksandResident · 17/09/2008 23:17

I thought that too - they made a big deal about it being unconsummated.

solo · 17/09/2008 23:18

I hate having to wait a whole week between episodes!!!!!!!!

StellaDallas · 18/09/2008 00:00

It really is getting better and better. DD1 was cross with me because I wouldn't let her stay up to watch it tonight - I have recorded it for her though. I think old Lizzie is happily shagging her way through 21st century Hammersmith and has no intention of ever coming back.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 18/09/2008 09:02

Lizzie's holed up on the sofa in Amanda's flat with her boyfriend, swigging beer out of cans, eating pizza and watching football. How could Darcy compete with that?

Kathyis6incheshigh · 18/09/2008 11:20

Oh yes, it was absolutely brill.

I bet when Jemima Rooper was reading the script and got to the bit with the wet shirt she threw away all her other movie offers and said 'that's it, I am so doing this part.'

I love having absolutely no idea what's going to happen next.

I always thought Darcy was an arse and it's good to have it confirmed.

Also, it's fab the way there is this big question in your mind all the way through about what the hell Lizzie is getting up to. Hopefully the scriptwriters won't let us down with that one.... (unless it is like Lost and they'll end the series with lots of questions unanswered).

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 18/09/2008 11:32

And it was written by a man, which I think is just amazing - do you think his missus was addicted to Colin Firth?
