The male judge gave the woman half of the loved up couple a REALLY lecherous look, did anyone else notice?

Carmenere · 11/09/2008 10:26

Well they have a very strange dynamic. Front of house bloke seemed subservient to chef bloke, yet he was the one to comfort him and chef let FOH bloke chose the key.

At a guess, they have a coupley relationship and love each other are not out to anyone else. working on this project allows them to spend all their time together in a seemingly innocent way. the chef bloke is very over macho, very tense, a very big personality and you could feel the tension he carries around with him. they were right to keep them in, they will make great tv.

Carmenere · 11/09/2008 10:28

I thought that WWW, he definitely fancies her.

wannaBe · 11/09/2008 10:28

love this.

Mango couple had to go really didn't they? if mango puree in cream is the best dessert they could do then really there was no hope. I at the judge who said "it's like baby food".

And what was goats cheese man thinking of? You don't experiment at a point when you have to present perfection!

I couldn't decide either whether the uptight couple were a couple or not.

I went to le manoir for my birthday and it was fantastic. This lot have a bloody long way to go to get to those standards.

swiftyknickers · 11/09/2008 10:33

the winners last year couldnt hack it and dont run the thatch anymore (my DP's company does!!)

Goats cheese couple are cute

elliott · 11/09/2008 10:40

I thought funniest point was when mango mum said 'you won't have tasted anything like this before' Hmmm, no, I'm sure Raymond Blanc has never tasted mango and cream...

Hated goats cheese pair. very stupid.

Butkin · 11/09/2008 13:44

I'm amazed he kicked out the mango ladies. I agree that their attempt was pretty hopeless and they couldn't even be bothered to bake biscuits to go with it.

However their cuisine (the Chinese/Wales combo aside) would have provided an interesting variation from the other ones. You could see from the shots of her cooking in her own kitched that she could do some interesting things and it was a shame they got to cook the pudding course.

I thought either of the gay couples should have gone because their efforts were very poor. How come they had contaminated water in with the potatoes in the first place?

MaryAnnSingleton · 11/09/2008 15:09

they might well have had interesting cooking to come but they were a bit daft not to have put in a tad more effort and at least made something with a bit more adventurous than the mango thing.. it is all very mediocre at the moment though

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 11/09/2008 15:27

I'm just starting to watch this on the i player, but it's annoying me how voiceover woman keeps saying 'resron' instead of restaurant. Surely it's normal to say the t's ?

RTKangaMummy · 11/09/2008 15:29

The chinese/welsh combo was a different cuple to the mango ones who were going to do carribean food

We live next door to the restaurant which won last year.

It's now gone back to being crap . Twas nice seeing our house & garden in the helicopter shots though!

Must remember to record it tonight. I think Mr Muscle with the tattoos has got to go, either him or Miss Smug "we're so happy".
