I think the stress finally got to her - and hardly surprising really. She has been so upbeat throughout - bl**dy hell it must be hard work......\but surely the boys have to go??

oxocube · 15/10/2008 21:24

A friend went to Raymond's cookery school about 10 years ago and she said it was FABULOUS. She said they wasted nothing - all the veg bits made into stocks, the bones, fish heads etc similar. She met M. Blanc and said he was absolutely charming and all the food they ate and cooked on the 5 day course was beautiful

Jux · 15/10/2008 22:08

The boys are utterly useless. A lot of their disasters are probably engineered by James "if they want to taste the food they can come to the restaurant tonight"; but Alastair is completely useless - let me stand in front of the cookery demonstration and tell you that these pointless pics are all photos, having previously wandered about aimlessly talking about going on the attack (with a wet fish no doubt) They're a joke and they're probably only still in because someone thinks they're good tv (no, they're just annoying).

I don't want any of them to win. They're scraping the barrel this time. Let's hope some better candidates have decided they want to run a restaurant in time for the next series.

TheWheelsOnTheBusHaveFallenOff · 15/10/2008 23:01

slightly scared about Alisdair and his cardiac history now - last week he said he had chest pains and I don't think anyone took that seriously at the time ... surely they should go out if only to save him from complete collapse. oh because he and James are idiots.

and ah lov Raymond and ees accent! he has been working in the UK for over 30 years and kept that gorgeous voice and accent and intonation, mmmMMMmmm. also mixed swooning and respect at him chopping the shallots!

wannaBe · 15/10/2008 23:02

hmmm not so sure the boys will go this week.

Designing a cookery book is probably quite up their street - James can cook and Alasdair has the artistic streak.

My money's on Steven and Helen to go.

SilkCutMama · 15/10/2008 23:05

alastair needs to leave and tell james that he loves him and would die for him (WHICH HE JUST MIGHT DO IF THEY CARRY ON)

The baldy one need to syop flaring his eyes when Raymond talks to him - it makes him look like a dick

loved up duo need to get theoir act together - they are the odds on to win but with a storm off like that I bet Rayomind is having seconfd thoughts

Blackduck · 16/10/2008 07:21

The schedule is apparently this:
Friday - service in restaurant
Saturday - service in restaurant
Sunday - Free
Monday - Studio Day re weekend's service
Tuesday - Challenge Day
Wednesday - Challenge Day
Thursday - Studio Day re Challenge

So having done this for five/sixweeks I am not surprised that having done a crap task, a full evenings service etc. she lost it a bit when cross examined about the growing season of the aubergine! (It was a bit of an unfair question IMO - she's mid service and he's on about seasons! - would you ask sucha question!). So have to say I didn't see it as a flounce, more that the stress was getting to her and she didn't want to burst into tears in front of them. I'm very much a run away person in those kinds of situations.

Agree it will either be the boys or Nel's. James may be a good chef, but he is an arrogant tosser and unless he can communicate effectively with his FoH (whoever his FoH is) he doesn't stand a cat in hells chance....

flatmouse · 16/10/2008 12:28

Did you hear, when judges were discussing, and the editing suggests who they are discussing by cutting to said couple, Raymond said "Ee reminds me of me when i was zat age" - implication was he meant James.

If that is the case, that's how they've survived.

Nels likely to go as food not impressive.

Loveydoveys and Clangers in the final (i too can't stand Mr Clangers facial expressions!)

wannaBe · 16/10/2008 13:48

yes I thought that too fm. although liked Sarah's "I wouldn't trust them to run a bath let alone a restaurant."

AnybodyHomeMcFly · 16/10/2008 16:05

I heart Raymond too. Also was chopping shallots and garlic at the exact moment that he was (coincidentally, I mean, I'm not THAT obsessed!) and was inordinately pleased with myself. I did not go on to make wild mushroom fricasee but still...

Boys or Nels to go. She can't cook but he's ace front of house, boys are the other way round.

flatmouse · 16/10/2008 16:39

Also, Raymond made a point of showing/teaching both lovey-man (now possibly Mr Forgetful) and Mr Clanger something in the kitchen. Either he didn't do the same with Nels and the boys or it's on the cutting room floor.

Implication being he can "teach" either of those two - so prospective winners.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 16/10/2008 20:19

James' presentation is pretty good.

bundle · 16/10/2008 20:20

gingham

FiveGoMadInDorset · 16/10/2008 20:21

I think we will call it .....Tarte Tatin, well obviosuly because that is what it is.

bundle · 16/10/2008 20:23

not Apple Heaven
or Calm Down Scallops

expatinscotland · 16/10/2008 20:23

Michelle, NO ONE wants to read about YOU and your husband and your nauseating relationship.

They're buying a fucking cookbook.

James, you can cook. Ditch Alistair.

Helen, the show is paying top whack for a true professional, why not ask his advice, because he'd have told you your food photos look like they were taken in 1985.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 16/10/2008 20:32

How many spelling mistakes?

expatinscotland · 16/10/2008 20:33

TWENTY!

Why not just go in and say, 'Raymond, please don't bother reading this. Our bags are packed. How do we get a taxi from here?'

FiveGoMadInDorset · 16/10/2008 20:40

Here we go

expatinscotland · 16/10/2008 20:47
