pmsl. I'd rather he was King than Mayor.

I thought it a brilliant programme, Boris is so much like a muddled professor. Saw him on telly today and you lot (i.e. English/Londoners) have made him get his haircut! Looking back at his family photos his hair was always a bit wild, and his sister still has the same haircut in her byline photo.

Thank god for personalities but it doesn't half make some of the other family trees look a tad tame and boring.

It was brilliant. Definitely we should make him king. He is a Awfully Thoroughly Bloody Good Bloke. Then Charles might make an okay mayor of London, and Boris wouldn't be able to do Policies and Real Governing.

Very entertaining. And Boris is the only celeb who has discovered royal antecedents to point out that actually, if you go back that many generations, it means you are merely one of 10,000+ people who can make the same claim. Bless him!

And of course he knows George II was German and couldn't speak much English (although I think he knew a bit, it was George I who couldn't speak a word of our language, allegedly).

I saw a statistic once that almost all English people - I mean, the ones with ancestors from this country - could claim descent from Edward II. Can't remember quite how it worked, though.

Who was that bloke I've forgotten on WDYTYA who ended up seeing Garter King at Arms or whoever - the guy in charge of heraldry - who showed him a family tree going back to God? One of the funniest things I have ever seen on TV.

Oh, yes, that's right. He looked completely befuddled!

I suppose, if you believe in that kind of thing, we are all related to God, being sons of Adam or daughters of Eve.

But most of us don't have shiny gilded family trees with a picture of great-great-many greats Grandad to prove it.

Shurely the only ones related to god are jews?

Now, wouldn't it be handy if we had a passing theologian who could clear that one up?

But if Adam and Eve were the first humans and were created by God, surely that makes all of us their descendants? (And the product of incest - I mean, who on earth did Abel and any other siblings marry?)

You know I tihnk Boris was born in the states so he could be King, Prime Minister AND president! I think the world would be a much cheerier place actually lol

But surely as a writer and politician, (pointed out several times!) would n't BJ at some idle moment have put Ali Kemal's name into Google just out of curiosity. You would n't wait until a tv production company shipped you over for a return visit to Turkey to see not such long-lost rellies who happen to have looked it up at last.
