Mass display of vomit, followed by synchronised knife fighting? Or maybe at a prearranged signal the participants will form an orderly queue, then sigh and tut and shake their copies of the Daily Mail when someone pushes in.

So what do you think then? I really have no idea how we could portray ourselves! It's tricky, of course, because we are not one country. Whatever happens one of the home nations will be p*ssed off!

Prefer the winter Olympics but will probably watch some of this as it won't stop bloody raining.

Interesting that while we are being hit over the head with a bat to live frugally and save the environment the pollution watch on Sky News (it is late, I am bored) showed that while London at rush hour had 48 bad-bits in the air (technical name anyone? mg of something or other that shows how polluted it is), Beijing had 468.

we have registered as volunteers for 2012

We did it years ago when London was first announced as winning the games

I did it for DS as well cos he will be old enough then.

There was a form on the OLYMPIC website to fill in with name, dob, address phone number etc.

I decided that we should fill it in asap and then if we changed our mind when it came to 2012 then ok someone else could do it but if we didn't apply at the time we may miss out.

I have no idea if you can still apply cos like I said it was years ago I did it

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Olypmics, and cant understand why anyone would have no interest in it..

i love the 5 continents thing, love supporting our GB team (lump in throat moment when our flag comes out), all of it!
Especially athletics and gymnastics, cos my girl will be there in 2016!!

swimming and athletics (particularly running) are my favourites
