Well my dh notices if I put on 1/2 a stone so don't know what I am doing wrong.

Moomin · 16/02/2005 19:06

dh and i watched this from the original programme and it was fascinating watching them all 7 years later.

OMG!!! That AWFUL julie woman!!! she just showed herself to be a total and utter tw*t with all the previous stuff she was spouting interspersed with the commenst from Stuart after she'd gone... and when her daughter revaled she had gone to NZ!!!! all that crap she said when they got married 'stuart surrounds me in a pillow of lurve' [vomit emoticon]

was quite sad for madeline. tom turned out to be a bit of a perv... which doesn't advertise naturism very well, knowing now what we know about his sexual tastes.

very very entertaining tv though

Surfermum · 16/02/2005 19:23

I've been following this programme too. I love the Liverpudlian couple, they're so funny, and I was so pleased they were still together. I'm sad for them that they can't have children though.

Hayls · 16/02/2005 19:31

I fell asleep during this and missed most of it... what happened with the older couple- Madeleine?- and some of the others? I only caught about 45 mins of it and missed what happened with the LIverpudlian couple and Kevin and his wife. Can anyone fill me in and will it be repeated?

NameChangingMancMidlander · 16/02/2005 19:52

I caught the last 20 mins of this prog. We've been following it too. Can't bear that sloaney one. Thought the scouse couple were fab, didn't realise that they can't have kids for them.

PMSL @ Tom the creepy perv. His face when the lap dancer was doing his thing made my skin crawl. ICK

emmatmg · 16/02/2005 20:18

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks Tom was a pervert.

Ewwwww, just the look of him made my skin crawl. When he was going on about sex all the time and then said "I'll be 70 soon spo I just wantt o have some fun". FFS I feel sorry for any woman he encounters.

Hopefully the entire female population of the country watched last night and will run a mile if they see him.

Moomin · 16/02/2005 20:27

Hayls- the main couples they focused on were: the Scouse couple, happy but childless; she's training to be a dental nurse

the Ra-ra posh couple, she was spoilt little cow ehn they got married and her dh ben didn't say alot; they've since divorced and she's met a bloke who she's been pestering to marry her; she seemed a little more self-aware these days and seems embarr about the way she carried on;

kevin and (?) - him very specky, her quite big and bossy, loads of kids but seemed very happy;

tom and madeline - still living in a mobile home; her now running a chip shop so is knackered all the time and now she can't have sex at his beck and call (or wear sexy nighties to have her photo taken - yikes!!!), he doesn't want to know ;

julie and stuart - enough said. it's a good job she moved to NZ as after that programme i bet she'd have been spat on in the street!

diane and (mike?/dave?) brummy couple with loads of kids; she's taking new qualifications and he works every day; looks as if she hates him; very surprised they're still together as they looked very unhappy last time (and split for a while but got back together)

and that's about it, i think...

Just wanted to say hi - this is my first post to Mumsnet and hopefully it won't be my last!

I watched "For Better For Worse" last night and was wondering what hapened to the woman who married the Turkish waiter she met on holiday ? From memory I think she was called Denise and was extremely annoying and smug. I seem to remember they had a lavish wedding by a swimming pool in Turkey with her in a huge meringue dress and a later follow-up programme showed them horseriding - anyone remember them? They were notable by their absence last night. The reason I was particularly interested in them was because 7 years ago I also married a Turkish guy I met on holiday - 7 years later we're still very happy and from my experience 7 years is not a milestone that many Anglo-Turkish couples seem to reach!!

Moomin · 17/02/2005 10:03

hi kaansmum, welcome to mumsnet.
as far as i know they didn't show that couple. there were a few that we saw very fleetingly but i'm not sure they were one of them. they tended to dwell on those couples that made the best tv (ie were arguing or had split up or were an 'odd' couple, etc).
lovely to hear that you and your dh are so happy. it's good watching programmes like that sometimes so you can count your own blessings!
