The Stig was filming on Great Portland Street last month and DH took piccies, the guy never took his helmet off the whole time he was there. Devoted to his cause.

Dh's work overlooks the Top Gear studios/race track. he HAS told me who the Stig is, but I wasn't interested can't remember
He occasionally appears in the background watching people crash

the old stig was perry mccarthy.. he wrote all about it in his autobiography

right after the book came out they dumped black stig off an aircraft carrier

Someone I work with was at that 24hour race and said he saw Stig without his helmet and it was Ben Collins. I had to text him just now to see I was remembering the right name. He said it was definetly Ben Collins.
