they are fighting for the job ..... can hear them now. ' After you...' 'no i insist after you' clenched teeth' no i must really insist after you'. i am surprised she has not asked them to curtsey - as for the the dog lady - she is barking. spa for dogs? swimming with the dogs, can see the point of swimming with dolphins, but dogs...

20K and she wants 10 hour day 5 days a week .. lets say 48 weeks a year so that's £8.33 an hour

mwahahahaahahaahaaa

magicfarawaytree · 09/07/2008 21:52

her ego is huge, sadly her manner are non existent.

wendy ann is a bit to desperate for the job its a real shame. A housekeeper is trading services for money and is not a slave. This is shocking.

DazedEmma · 09/07/2008 22:02

£250 a week?!!! that's insane!

Saying that i wouldn't be treated like a slave for 5 grand a week. Well...

TwoIfBySea · 09/07/2008 22:08

She didn't want time-watchers because she didn't want to pay a proper wage.

This is why I quit nannying all those years ago. You feel guilty for expecting time off, especially when you are not being paid extra. Ridiculous.

And the American guy whining on about dust when he lived in such clutter.

CalmCalmCalm · 09/07/2008 22:09

I missed the beginning - does anyone know what Mr & Mrs "Chavvy Lottery Winners" do? Seriously, who has a uniformed chauffeur and then does their own shopping at Tesco? Even if he is following three paces behind and carrying your basket.

I think I'd hire the chap in a shot if I had anywhere to keep him!

expatinscotland · 09/07/2008 22:16

I'm watching on +1.

German people can strike some as abrupt.

I rather like it msyelf.

This couple are twats.

expatinscotland · 09/07/2008 22:22

OMG, these people have NO understanding of what a housekeeper really is.

It is not a maid. There are maids, there are cooks, there are drivers, there are housekeepers.

These roles are different.

expatinscotland · 09/07/2008 22:29

WHERE do they find these awful people?

hifi · 09/07/2008 22:37

they were actually offering £16500 in the end.the slob family that is. she hates clock watchers, for the amount they were offering what did they expect?

viviane, oh dear, she was a fish out of water, or africa.
the doggie couple had totally unrealistic expectations, they are looking for the impossible.

horrible, horrible people.

expatinscotland · 09/07/2008 22:45

the dog people are just like dogs - vile and dirty and with the added deficiencies of laziness, rudeness and being disgusting.

the nouveau people are just that. so sadly bourgeois it's truly frightful.

expatinscotland · 09/07/2008 22:47

this nouveau woman is truly insulting and clueless - housekeepers are not nannies or childminders.

expatinscotland · 09/07/2008 22:52

I can only imagine how smelly that kennel place is - gross.

He's wearing that vile shirt and is a vile person - nasty and slovenly.

Butkin · 09/07/2008 22:54

Doggy people want a kennel maid to help them with their business so why didn't they just get one for about 15,000 and spend the rest of the money on a cleaner?

By the way what sort of people send their dogs to a place where they get forced to swim and then have their pictures taken eating scrambled eggs of china?.

The Chavs were horrendous - what was with her hairstyle at the dinner party?? They obviously absolutely no clue and just want slaves.

I know people who have true house keepers and all they do is keep the place clean, look after the property whilst their people are away and occasionally (ie maybe 20 times a year) shop/cook for dinner parties.

Butkin · 09/07/2008 22:56

Also with the Chavs how come she wanted the bloke to wear a suit and hat and drive her about - including going shopping at Tescos - but didn't want this from the two ladies.

Did think the posh Russian woman was very strange though and not suprised when she said she was divorced.

expatinscotland · 09/07/2008 23:03

And someone needs to inform her that, unless you are speaking French, a chaffeur is someone you hire for the evening or an event, whereas a driver is in your permanent employ.

Clock-watchers. LOL.

If you have enough time on your plump ugly hands to obsess over what your housekeeper is doing, Gabriella, you honestly have too much time on your hands.

expatinscotland · 09/07/2008 23:07

sorry, chauffeur

TwoIfBySea · 09/07/2008 23:46

expat, or chaveur

The problem is that a century ago a family in that position would have several staff: maid, cook, nanny, whatever it is you call the man who drove the horse carriage things.

Now they expect it all to be done by one person on one wag.

expatinscotland · 10/07/2008 00:03

one crappy wage. below minimum wage, as wendy ann pointed out.

then they wonder why they can't keep employees.

this is 2008, people!

MaryAnnSingleton · 10/07/2008 10:12

unbelievably depressing programme - poor Vivien has obviously fallen on hard times and is a hundred times classier than Mrs Nouveau with her horrid mother and square plates ( why was she buying them in a garden centre ? no disrespect to g centres and customers thereof but I'd've gone to David Mellor or somewhere much posher to waste all my dosh). Agree that dog people should have employed a kennel maid and a separate cleaner.

MaryAnnSingleton · 10/07/2008 10:13

I liked Wendy Ann btw

TwoIfBySea · 10/07/2008 17:18

Naturally I had meant to say wage and not make some socio-comment on airhead rich-*itches!
