In your opinion, Omar is thus. It's not terminology I, personally, would use in this circumstance.

Omar appears to have a superordinate attitude to women. Rhianna is perfectly capable of telling Omar to fuck off.

Women tell men they consider unsuitable to fuck off all the time, believe it or not.

Difficult to tell someone to fuck off in this situation.

Like I said upthread, have you read the statement from women’s aid?

It isn’t just my opinion that he is abusive. It’s clear from his behaviour to anyone who recognises abuse. I’m sorry you don’t see it but again, that’s a you problem. Rather than coming back repeatedly to tell us how it isn’t abuse why don’t you take the opportunity to learn about the entry level abuse that he is displaying? The red flags, low level control and domineering behaviour? Information is easily available and would be a far better use of your time than defence. Like I said earlier, it might just save your life one day.

It's not.
Managing their interactions, post, could prove awkward. We've all dealt with awkward though, it wouldn't be difficult.
And of course, either or both could leave. They're not obliged to be there.

Gosh, simmer down. I'm neither justifying nor excusing Omar's attitude. I'm acknowledging that there are cultures, worldwide, not just in the UK, where women aren't treated equally. If anything, i'm having a go at the hypocrisy surrounding same. If I was to suggest 'blame' of a culture or belief system for encouraging the oppression of women, mumsnet would probably delete it. Direct your anger hence, not at people who call it.

But you are excusing his behaviour. You posted that Omar is not a domestic abuser and that it is ridiculous to say that he is.

His behaviour towards Rhianna has clearly crossed the line from unpleasant to “entry level” abusive. The telling her to fix up, the ridiculing her feelings, the silent treatment to punish her for her “wrongdoings”. On their own, each behaviour is probably easier to push back on. But as a collection of behaviour, they have become abusive.

The relationship is toxic on both sides IMO. But his need to control the narrative around him and his image has led to him needing to control Rhianna and her perceived behaviour.

I'm going through a really stressful time and look forward to BB every night it's the only time I feel my own anxiety "switched off", but last night was too much, my stomach was in knots. It's like watching a horribly stressful drama about abuse and bullying. Rochelle, Philip; both full of utter spite and hatred. It's not funny any more, and all of them including Omar being enabled by Lynx and Yas.

I can't remember such an upsetting year in BB, I wonder if anyone else can? Is it simply holding a mirror up to the divisions in society now?

Obviously I'm over-invested as I want it to turn out "right", that is to say Sam or Twinx to win, bit like when you start watching a scary movie and you realise half way through it was terrible mistake but now you have to stay till the end in the hope of seeing the monster banished. Or sent back to Liverpool.

(Edited to ask did episode overrun last night? and finish at an odd time? I should have stayed up to see David Potts, I wonder if he called a spade a spade and called out the bullying/Omar?)

Puffergalatics · 21/10/2026 13:51

Why is Twinks so disliked? I think she’s great-intelligent, well spoken, beautiful, witty. She’s got her opinions but she respectful and listens well. I just can’t see what there is to dislike about her.

I know what you mean. Back in the day, you'd get 2 groups but the decent ones would usually win in the end. I think all the decent ones will be gone by the final this time and we'll end up hoping for anyone but the Temus.

DecisionTime123 · 21/10/2026 14:00

@dapsnotplimsolls I just had a google in case I was confused but no, I am seeing winners like Ali and Richard from recent years: outsiders, people who were bullied or sidelined and who won in the end based on decent behaviour (I didn't watch all of the show in the year that Jordan won so not sure my theory goes back further than that). What do you think?

Agree, she isn't horrible at all. A bit much but so is everyone else in there, in one way or another.

Omar isn't a domestic abuser, it's ridiculous to call him that. Nor has he done anything that merits being removed. What he has shown so far are signs of being an unpleasant young man who has potentially been brought up in a culture/climate/atmosphere where woman respect their man, and do as they're told. His attitude to women is outdated, but lets not pretend outdated attitudes towards women arent still evident in our wonderfully diverse country.

I think Twinx would be the ideal winner! I understand she's a bit annoying but at least she has some morals!

ItsCloudyToday · 21/10/2026 14:05

Twinks was absolute right when she talked about double standards in the task, they would have ripped her to shreds if she had taken the time over the hot water. However, she is very annoying when she talks over people in conversations, in the one with Frankie she didn’t stop for breath!

I can, it's because she seems full of herself and came in spouting nonsense about being a witch - then cried because other people were talking about her being a witch.

Having said that, she isn't nasty. Which in that house is a real plus point. Also, she did try to support Rhianna re the controlling, toxic behaviour from Omar.

Overall, I no longer want her out. Though she's the sort of person who would irritate me a lot if I had to live with her or even just work with her.

StacyFromCroydon · 21/10/2026 14:33

Just trying to catch up now, please can someone explain why Philip got to put 4 names up?
Basically because he got the No.1 spot?

StacyFromCroydon · 21/10/2026 14:35

And also did they know from the outset that the rest of the house are watching their nominations?

Edited

Because I believe there are quite a few who would have 100% nominated differently if it had been anonymous

PocketSand · 21/10/2026 14:41

@JasmineMacWA said quite explicitly that abuse is not entertainment in direct response to Omar’s behaviour toward Rhianna. You twisting yourself into knots to excuse abusive behaviour whilst claiming that it is the single belief of one poster who you claim is abusive and coercive for not accepting your claim as valid/the truth. Classic DARVO.

Ohcrap082024 · 21/10/2026 14:41

@StacyFromCroydonyes, Phillip pulled out number 1 so had to choose 4 names.

I don’t think the housemates saw any of the nominations but any hm would know the 4 names the previous hm left up.

I think Harry went in after Phillip so immediately knew which 4 names Phillip chose.

Ohcrap082024 · 21/10/2026 14:43

Did anyone else clock that Rhianna had a quick look in the bag as she pulled out her number? It may not have changed the one she chose but she did well to pick out 11.

I agree that Richard winning showed that the 'good' ones can still win. I wasn't a massive fan of Ali but still pleased that she beat Marcello. I don't know how many more evictions there'll be but I hope they put the top 4 or 5 up so we can get some of the nasty ones out.

It’s quite rightly been deleted. My post has also been removed, presumably because I quoted the deleted post.

Don’t think that changed anything. She just got lucky to go last.

Your post was removed because it was a personal attack. Mine was removed because you reported it.

Omar remains in the house, thus the ITV welfare team clearly don't consider him to be a risk. It is subjective as to whether or not his attitude and behaviour (which I am NOT defending, for clarity) constitute the label 'domestic abuser' - most people seem to be avoiding labelling him thus.
