How can someone be a rubbish traitor if they are still there and no one has even vaguely suspected them?

Correct. That is the very point. Like Cat Burns last year.

mumofoneisonozempic · 18/10/2026 11:44

I think James Acaster is so hot honestly

I think if we met, we'd be a couple - i love that kind of awkward personality

😄🙈🙈

(Assuming hes into a woman who is currently stuffing her face with Skips, watching Sunday brunch)

mumofoneisonozempic · 18/10/2026 11:46

I reckon the group know that maya is a traitor 🤔🤔

I think as someone said upthread, they need to keep the Traitors close until the end

The endless recruitments have ruined the series

It's possible. Or they know James is. Hardly anyone wanted to come in the room

You mean Maya? Largely luck, I’d say at this point. She’s not had to do anything because other traitors have provided much more obvious targets, and none of them had the opportunity to turn on her, so she’s really had to do nothing except decide when it would look too obvious for her not to vote for a fellow-traitor who is clearly about to be banished. I think she’s under the radar atm pretty much entirely due to circumstances, so we’ve not seen her tested at all yet. She might emerge as an excellent traitor once that starts to happen, or she might not.

But I don’t think the choices the turret has made so far have been that great, and she’s the only one who’s been there from the start.

RowsOfFlowers · 18/10/2026 11:49

WestwardHo1 · 18/10/2026 10:34

Well, why else would they be on the show? In all honesty?

Other than it possibly being fun (though quite often they don't look like they're having much fun). Actually that's one difference for me between this year and last year. Last year they all seemed as though they were having a really good laugh. I know way too much was made of the Celia fart thing, but it was the giggles they all got that made that funny. It might be a difference in the editing of course. Miranda talked about how she had bonded with Joe but we hadn't seen any of that which is a pity. I'd like to see them being daft and talking bollocks. It means the lesser known ones can shine too. I don't think Joe M would have made such an impact if the editing had been like this year's series - and he has done extraordinarily well out of it of course. He was well known in rugby for being a character, but being on the programme meant he got a far bigger audience.

I'm totally rambling.

I think some of them have been having fun! Miranda doing little mix moves with Leigh-Anne as an example!

I feel like maya has done the most out of the traitors though

Actually I was referring to James. No one suspects him. But it works for her too. When you watch Uncloaked they are all very shocked.

HoraceCope · 18/10/2026 11:52

maya appears to be telling James what she wants and we dont always get to hear what he decides. i think she chose Kenny, i think she is a more dominant personality compared to James.

CaptainMyCaptain · 18/10/2026 11:55

I like James A. His stand up is funny as are his appearances on WILTY etc. He's very deadpan which some people might mistake for boring.

The endless recruitments have ruined the series

I agree with that. There's no rule that they have to recruit and they are treating it as though there is. Why don't they try a couple of days on their own? Rachel and Stephen were great as a pair.

I think a lot of the trouble this time is that it feels over edited. Obviously programmes like this often are e.g. with Bake Off when, gosh wouldn't you know, every single time the clock counts down someone finishes their bake on the very last second Hmm.

But I think if we the viewers are very aware that certain situations are staged and/or edited, then they have done a bad job. I feel like this about the yawning, and Ross's suspicious looks. I guess we will see.

ForAmberPoster · 18/10/2026 12:11

The yawning task is the first thing that Maya has had to do, I thought she’d been playing a good game until then then I realised it was because she hadn’t done anything. It’s a bit boring and I don’t bother with the after show or podcast any more.

Thankfully James B is good value, his last outfit reminded me of Olivia Newton-Johns Physical video.

sherbetlemonade · 18/10/2026 12:29

LightDuvet · 18/10/2026 08:54

I think he's put a bit more into it since Kenny was recruited - like OH that's what I'm supposed to be doing 😆

It's as though a weight has been lifted from his shoulders, isn't it?

sherbetlemonade · 18/10/2026 12:43

SorryAuntLydia · 18/10/2026 11:20

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

But back to the show, James A isn’t funny or clever he’s just a rubbish traitor. He’s coming across as a bit thick - didn’t he understand what the show was before he signed up? Please can someone banish him 🤞🏼

He has autism, so it isn't exactly easy for him.

ThatCyanCat · 18/10/2026 12:44

By that logic, they would have kept in REG and Joe. If they were keeping in people they truly do think are traitors.

I know you should keep them in if you know who they are, but I do understand the temptation.

ItalianChineseIndianMexican · 18/10/2026 12:49

I like Maya and Kenny and think they'll go far.
Miranda and Sharon are my favourite faithfuls.
I agree with those who have said this series isn't as good as the last but I'm 100% keeping watching!

She's rubbish TV, but a very good traitor!

the80sweregreat · 18/10/2026 12:53

I like this mix of people. It’s not as good as last year , but I still enjoy watching the skulduggery!

Newsprint · 18/10/2026 13:05

sherbetlemonade · 18/10/2026 12:29

It's as though a weight has been lifted from his shoulders, isn't it?

Yes, he’s visibly relaxed! His body language is totally different!

Mathair2 · 18/10/2026 13:06

I dont think Maya is necessarily playing a clever game, therefore I wouldnt call her a good traitor. I dont feel like shes strategic, just lucky really. Her name was mentioned in the early days and the other traitors became so obviously traitors because they were so bad that her name got brushed off then.

SorryAuntLydia · 18/10/2026 13:07

sherbetlemonade · 18/10/2026 12:43

Hmm, if it’s that hard for him, why sign up? (And Cat managed fine last year so…)
He wasn’t conscripted so could have said no… and he doesn’t appear to have a problem with lies on WILTY

He’s just coming across as a bit precious.

SorryAuntLydia · 18/10/2026 13:09

I am loving Maya, Miranda and Leigh-Anne - new girl group?

Not all autistic people are the same.

Piggywaspushed · 18/10/2026 13:14

Cat said she found it very difficult at first, to be fair and plenty on MN opined that Cat was too quiet, uncomfortable and quite dull, if I recall.

LightDuvet · 18/10/2026 13:18

Piggywaspushed · 18/10/2026 11:36

How can someone be a rubbish traitor if they are still there and no one has even vaguely suspected them?

Luck! The fact that so many faithfuls this series are behaving Traitor-like is diverting attention.

Joanne's slip up about the hide and seek murder
Joe L begging to be recruited
Julie not retraining herself, over-reacting a bit

So I wouldn't say Maya is being a particularly good Traitor at all or displaying skill... just faithful who are more dull/boring often make it to the end!
