Joe begging to be recruited was a mistake I fear. It looks bad.

He just so badly wants to see the Turret and wear the cape!!!

He probably knows his public pleas would get him banished but he thinks it’s worth it just to have the experience of being Recruited and being a Traitor for 24 hours. And why not? It’s just a game show and not an experience he’ll ever get again.

I would have recruited him just to let him live out his dream!

His immediate banishment would have either ensured Maya and James A were safe for at least one more day (not that they’re suspects anyway), or nobody would have voted for him because they wouldn’t believe the recruitment of him would have happened because it would have been such an “obvious, out there” choice considering how vocal he’s been.

Plus it would have been great for Maya to have had an evil enthusiastic Traitor by her side for at least one day

The producers need not have had double coffins.

I think he is bored and just wants out.

i am not keen on Maya as a traitor. wonder why no one ever suspects her.

Because she is so dull. I mean it’s a great strategy for a traitor but it makes for very boring telly.

They did it so that you couldn't get yourself out without screwing over your partner. Hannah has been very restrained!

Yes, of course. To stir up drama.

Exactly. There’s no suspense or dramatic arc with someone no one appears to suspect at all, and who is very good at being wallpaper. I just think ‘Oh, wonderful cheekbones’ every time she’s on camera, because there’s nothing else to think about — part of the problem is that with two reluctant fellow-traitors, she has no one to ‘act with’ in the tower.

Her most interesting moment so far was that very peculiar tight-waisted white skirt suit with serious heels at breakfast! It was kind of Melanie Griffith in Working Girl meets mob wife…?

I am a bit confused by some of the discussion here. It's celebrity traitors we want to be entertained but when someone does something entertaining, such as Joe begging to be a traitor, people are overthinking it. I think he is just having a laugh he knows comedy and what people will be entertained by. I also think Joanne is similar, she's enjoying the game but not massively overthinking it and is quite entertaining, she has adhd so may be lacking the concentration needed. I think Maya is as dull as dishwasher she really is quite boring, she is not a massively clever traitor has made bad decisions and is not particularly strategic or entertaining. I think her and James are too different and don't gel very well together. I get the love for Kenny but his massive overreaction in the turret was annoying so jury out for me on that one. Was gutted to see Rob go but it was obvious from the minute he stupidly gave Leigh Ann the key, should have listened to his pal. Looking back over clips from last year there was so much silliness ad humour which is lacking this year, everyone is too paranoid and guarded and those that aren't are getting criticised here for their messing.

I agree! REG was entertaining for his brief, disastrous stint in the game, but some people on here are behaving as if he contravened a peace treaty! I was amused by Kenny’s reaction in the turret and am hoping he shakes things up a bit.

There are so many people in there that I like. Watching the series for the first time because I love so many of the contestants.

Couldn't watch the last one because I loathe J Ross. Awful man.

That was good, but surely the Sugar Puff Monster....thing (what was it? A cardigan? A shrug? Rugby body armour?) was the greatest. I remember being impressed she was willing to draw that much attention as a traitor!

It's all Jerry's fault. If she hadn't fucked up, Hannah wouldn't have been recruited.

Yes, I agree. I’d have loved Hannah to be around for longer, as a faithful.
Kenny will be an excellent traitor. What a laugh he is.
Joanne may have signed her own banishment warrant. I wouldn’t miss her, TBH.
Biggest surprise of the ep for me was Michael Sheen’s leopard print shirt.

It means thick as two short planks. Rude and wrong in this case I think.

Thank you.

I loved the Big Shrug! It would make me look like a yeti, alas. But it was just a cardigan, fundamentally. You could hang around in a draughty castle gossiping in it,

Whereas nipped-waisted white suit outfit looked as if she was about to stage a very chic hostile takeover bid in a film set boardroom in 1987!

I confess to wondering how she and her stylist manage all the outfits. She’s supposedly confined to one Marriott hotel room when not in the castle, but surely her outfits must take up another? I’ve stayed in the Inverness airport Marriott and the rooms are not enormous!

DBSFstupid · Yesterday 09:31

I just feel a bit flat about the money they are raising. Every time money is won they cheer and hoot and holler and make out it is really something amazing, but most of these celebs have probably earned more than the current pot of £33,000 in a week! Jerry Hall probably used to earn that for a couple of hours of modelling at the height of her fame!

They could literally just all go home and donate their fees to their chosen charity and everyone would be a winner.

Especially us!

I find it a bit in bad taste.

I am not enjoying this series, it is dull. I loved the Alan Carr series.

I am not a fan of galloping either.

The Alan Carr series 😆

I confess that I never intended to watch CT series 1, had never watched any Traitors.

But the moment I happened to see Alan Carr on it one night I was hooked!

He was so good he may have spoiled it for all future series 😮

ThatCyanCat · Yesterday 09:41

I loved how he almost didn't seem to realise he was a traitor and was constantly amazed that he'd got away with it!

Yes I totally agree, that was my point. They are getting much more between them than the eventual charity will ever get so just stop now, donate their fees rather than take them and then all the charities will win.

Bunnycat101 · Yesterday 10:06

I just loved Alan so much last year (even more so when I realised how much work he has done with his chosen charity). It’s not quite as fun this year. Hoping Kenny can cause a bit of chaos.

I think it would have been quite entertaining if they’d recruited Joe. Even if he’d been banished quickly they still get to recruit again. There is a tactic where the established traitors could just pick off suspicious faithfuls and keep recruiting to save their own skin.

You can tell Joe is bored and just trying to stir it up a bit. He may also just want out of the game, for myriad reasons. I don’t blame him really, the Faithful won’t ever fully trust him because of his record with pranks etc so he is just fucking with everyone now for lols.

FallenNight · Yesterday 10:09

I like this strategy @Bunnycat101 Just keep recruiting the most obvious so that the the faithful keep banishing useless traitors and feel all pleased with themselves. Murder anyone who adds no value to your game and stay under the radar until the very end.
