I hope it’s not another drugs investigation for Jannik - that’s sometimes the explanation when someone’s out for a long time with no real explanation. I would hope though after last time he is now being extra careful so it probably is just the injury - but I agree it does seem a bit odd.

I doubt it's drugs. I've never bought in to the whole silent ban concept.

He did fall and hurt his knee at Wimbledon so maybe he played through an injury he shouldn’t have and made it worse.

I think the real reason is that he’s job sharing with Carlos.

If he's damaged his knee, he is probably erring on the side of caution and wisely making sure he is fully recovered before coming back. If he wants a long term career, he can't risk anything that could derail it.

I like the idea of a job share.
