I want to see what actually happened.

Fizzywinegum · 05/10/2026 14:52

Default

JaneJeffer · 05/10/2026 14:52

There was no footage of what happened but Daniil hit the ball away so it’s a default if he hit him.

At least we were spared the celebrations from Djokovic

Very true.

I'm not fussed by the final, either.

Sorry AdM.

Fizzywinegum · 05/10/2026 14:58

Thanks for the new thread Jane Tennis

Can’t see ADM winning against Djok in the final but fingers crossed

Will be interesting to see what Djok says in his interview - was Daniil taking the pee out of Djok pretending to be injured?

JaneJeffer · 05/10/2026 15:00

Alex’s outfit is horrible. He looks like an 8 year old.

Thanks for the new thread!

I just caught up on the shenanigans in China. What an insane match, Daniil had sooo many chances to break. And to end with a default in the last game!

On Tennis TV they showed a slow mo replay of the incident, and honestly, I'm not surprised by the default. I'm sure Daniil wasn't trying to hurt anyone, but he did hit the ball in frustration. Hope the spectator is ok.

Tennis question on House of Games - they thought Tim Henman won a slam Grin

I can't get used to Michael Sheen being Richard Osman.

I was having a laugh at that!

They could at least have left Richard on the prizes Sad

I knowSad. It's will always be Richard's wheelies luggage and fondue set Grin.

I do like Michael really. But he's not Richard...yet.

StartupRepair · 05/10/2026 20:08

Oh Daniil. There is always something unexpected.

Raahh · 06/10/2026 08:00

This Tuesday finals lark is confusing me - especially when the tournaments involved are 500 events.
Plus, the women in Beijing are still in play til the weekend.
I was score watching earlier- Linda Noskova, beaten Alexandrova, not really a shock result, Alexandrova had good reults this time last year. They both did, really.

Karolina Muchova has just started her match against Osaka, so I've got my fingers crossed for her.

Raahh · 06/10/2026 09:26

I had to take the dog out- this is an up and down match- Karolina was 1-4 down when I went out and won the first set. Is 0-3 down again in the second.

IceandIndigo · 06/10/2026 09:52

Come on Karolina!

IceandIndigo · 06/10/2026 09:54

Jannik is out for the rest of the season, which means that Sascha is guaranteed to become #1. It's been a weird year.

IceandIndigo · 06/10/2026 10:11

Karolina doesn't really look well.

My mother rang, so I've had half an eye on the screen. I saw it flash up about Jannik- it really has been odd- he started the year winning a record streak of masters titles, and ends it like this. Poor Jannik.
I know I was getting bored with the Jannik/Carlos monopoly at the start of the year, but I didn't wish this on him!

IceandIndigo · 06/10/2026 10:25

I don't even understand what's wrong with Jannik. It seems very mysterious.

Raahh · 06/10/2026 10:25

Come on Karolina!
I hope she can make it through this match. She looks like she can't wait for it to finish.

Raahh · 06/10/2026 10:27

Ice I think Jannik has a knee injury- but I'm not sure that that has been what has been wrong with him for the majority of the year. He was obviously struggling with the heat at one stage.

Raahh · 06/10/2026 10:29

Carlos is a break down against Jiri Lehecka. But it's very early days.

Raahh · 06/10/2026 10:38

I thought the commentators had vanished.

IceandIndigo · 06/10/2026 10:52

Yeah it's supposedly some sort of inflammation on his knee Raahh, but I just don't understand when he picked it up. He hasn't played since Wimbledon, and there didn't seem to be any signs of an injury then.

it does seem strange.

Mind you, Musetti injured his finger during training.
