Anais Mallory leaves behind her high-flying career as a homicidedetective in Sydney to return to her hometown of Queenstown in the South Island of New Zealand, where she is reunited with her grief-stricken mother, Veronica, following the mysterious road accident death of Anais' sister, Lynne 2yrs ago .

As Anais works on new cases with Detective Delaney as a local detective, she also investigates matters surrounding the recent deaths of her father and sister, which she suspects may involve her former fiancé, Luke, now married to her former best friend,

For some people, some places are just bad news. For New Zealand cop turned Sydney detective Anaís Mallory (Chelsie Preston Crayford), in A Remarkable Place to Die, it’s her hometown. Queenstown might look scenic and peaceful, but her memories of the place she once called home are all bad,

starting with the murder of her father.
It’s a crime that’s (supposedly) solved, with two men in jail over his death.

She left town not long afterwards, but her sister Lynne (Tara Canton) stayed. Now she’s dead too, killed in a car accident two years ago.

this started the other week but I only saw it last night and saw e1 and 2

Is this a new series? It was on last year. It is brilliant and the scenery is utterly beautiful.

It’s on u/drama

I missed e1 but saw in catch up

its good and im enjoying

it says 4 parts but seems to be 8 and each episode is split into 2 part 1 and part 2

so 1&2 have been on

3 is tonight

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 24/09/2026 09:14

Recap e1 but reading it might have e2 in it

possibly it was shown as 4 x 2hrs and now 8 x 1 hr

im confused 😂

so if you read and think haven’t seen that yet stop and don’t read further till seen next episode

So this is actually e1&2 out of 8

e3 is tonight and assuming a diff murder /mystery as 1&2 solved it

im also guessing that anais and simon will get together

plus not much of a best friend marring her ex fiance

My lips are sealed 😀

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/09/2026 21:35

I really enjoyed 1&2 (1) @RampantIvy

would I be right in thinking when shown last year it was 4 x 2hrs

I'm just starting this, I hadn't heard of it, thanks for the thread. I had a bit of a kerfuffle with the episodes on Sky on demand and managed to start on episode 2 at first, but I'm right now and on episode 1, they were both called episode 1.

Xmasbaby11 · 25/09/2026 20:50

I'm going to start this tonight and have high hopes as there have been some great Aussie programmes recently.

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/09/2026 21:25

yah @RedRiverShore6 and @Xmasbaby11

its confusing as I think when was shown it was 4 x 2hr so 4 episodes according to recap

yet showing it as 8 so need to check says e1 part 1 then part 2 on demand

now im on track tv pace should be easier so shows as e2 but is really 3/8 was shown last night

hard to swallow part 1

and then next week it’s part 2 and 4/8

I just saw this thread and thought it was worth a try. Unfortunately U catch up is refusing to play fair. I keep getting an error code.

The Aussie dramas can be good, so I'll keep trying.

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/09/2026 22:44

Oh that’s weird as I watched it on u as sky demand wasn’t showing subtitles

can you watch via iPad/phone etc

OP posts:
IChooseWine · 25/09/2026 23:14

While I was on the U app, I tried the next advertised programme just to see if the app was working, really. Ended up watching 2 episodes of Dog Park 😂.

Now I've got 2 series to watch, which is good.

Xmasbaby11 · 26/09/2026 11:42

I watched it on the More4 app. I only saw about half an episode then gave up - a bit too soapy/glossy for what I wanted, and lacking the Aussie humour which I've seen in other programmes. So it's a no from me - beautiful scenery though, absolutely stunning!

Waiting for Blue Lights and Winter to start next week - just what to watch in the meantime!

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/09/2026 13:12

Sorry you didn’t like

I can’t wait for Tue and Wes tv
