patrick was absolutely in worship of that incredible dress. She is a surgeon I think? Amazingly clever design.

I did wonder if Emma's final dress was an attempt to emulate what Asmaa achieved with hers.

I agree. I felt a bit disappointed actually, and I do like Anna and think she is a seriously rare talent and an artist.
Anna's final dress was a bit of an am-dram costume IMO. Lovely colours and I loved the concept, but the wings were a bit small and half-arsed. I'd like to have seen an interpretation of wings instead, using their overall shape, colours and translucency but not looking so literally like wings. I think they shoujd have taken up more space and been more bold, basically.
Beth's final dress was absolutely breathtaking. Conceptually fascinating and quite theatrical, but wearable and beautiful too. The fabrics together were amazing and it was so original.
I also thought Beth's transformation round dress was better than Anna's; that flower in the middle of the belly was odd and I didn't think she used the orange chrysanthemums very effectively. Beth's was glam and gorgeous, fabulous colours and well structured. I think the only place Beth fell down was with the bow tie.

I actually wondered if they thought Anna and Beth’s transformations were the other way round, so went with the shift dress to give themselves leeway in the MTM as Beth had the issue in the pattern challenge. I think they could easily have thought Beth’s (surely much better) transformation was Anna’s style.

They were being very cynical if it's true, though.

Is it only me that thinks it’s a bit unfair when people say Anna deserved to win because Beth potentially has better job prospects outside the competition? I don’t really feel like that’s the point of the competition! Feels a bit like past days when men would get a promotion because they have a family to support, rather than genuinely being the best for the role!

I’ve seen it in a few chats now - that Anna ‘deserved’ to win as she’s aiming for a career in costume design.

I also thought Beth was the best in the MtM and in the transformation and Anna's transformation with the pom poms was dreadful. Also that Beth was the best sewer from the quarter-final onwards. I'd also have liked to have seen a four-person final with Heather.

So I'd have given it to Beth. But while I think Beth was robbed, I don't think who actually wins matters in the grand scheme of things, Anna is very talented and she was certainly streets ahead in the first few weeks.

And the main thing was, the series itself was probably one of the best I've seen since the first two, and the best standard of sewing that they have ever had. Sophie is bloody great.

I think that's missing the point too.
All of them will get exposure from having been on it; you don't need to be the winner to benefit.
If anything, Anna might have been more likely to succeed in costume design if she'd gone down another route to get noticed; she's so good, however she did it someone would snap her up.
