I'm not really following the point system.

Fatiha's pigeon and the story behind it was more deserving of POTW than than Layton's swan, IMO, but I wasn't there and can't see what the judges can so might be missing something. I agree Denise deserved a mention for her dog, it was very good.

I'm getting the impression Lucy is trying to sabotage her own makes because she'd rather have to leave for an 'unfortunate' break than not being very good at pottery.

I’m actually quite enjoying this as a format. It’s quite interesting seeing people learn something new from scratch.

TeenToTwenties · 28/09/2026 10:56

I enjoy both the celebrity and the normal versions.
What I really like about the celebrity version is how positive and encouraging the judges are. They really try to find the best in all the attempts.

Yes I like both versions. Same with Masterchef and the celebrity one and the ordinary people one. I don't like the professional one.

For novices I am impressed with the celebs and like them all except Lucy. I have found her very annoying in everything I have seen her in. Not sure if it is meant to be funny but, to me, she certainly isn't.

I'm quite enjoying it. It's nice knowing that for the first few episodes no-one is leaving but I'm buggered if I understand the points system. I find Lucy and Layton quite annoying, Lucy because either she's not trying or is deluded and Layton because I don't think he's ever heard of the word modest.

I quite like all the others though, and for once I've actually heard of all of them.

Oh well, I like it! It's like a warm hug to me.

Me too, really like it and love LT as a presenter.

Just caught up with this week's episode and I agree. I think they would have given Fatiha Potter of the Week but couldn't square that circle because Layton did so well in the 2nd challenge.

The challenges they've set so far have mostly been builds/sculptures rather than thrown items so it does help everyone to have a chance to shine. But if you haven't got the hang of the wheel it will hold you back points-wise I guess.

It looks like Lucy will definitely be one of the 2 to leave next week but all the others have tried really hard - especially Paul who has improved technically and creatively every week - so it will be a tough decision for the judges.

LT is great - I'd like to see her on TV more.

I love this show- fascinating to watch people trying something new. I’ve changed my mind about Fatiyha - I really like her in this when I’ve always been irritated by her “I’m mad, me!” persona before. (My least favorite persona!)

dreamingofgoodhair · 29/09/2026 11:04

Oh I didn’t recognise Liza Tarbuck.

Ah yes, I'd forgotten about that bit, thank you @PersonOnTheInside .

This has grown on me despite not being a fan of celebrity ‘reality’ programmes. Agree Lucy is annoying. She’s trying so hard to be wacky and funny and it all just falls flat. I did love Fatima’s pigeon. I thought she really managed to use the whole raki process to its best advantage in her decoration and had a lovely back story. I do think giving a point for particularly good creations is the right thing to do. Maybe there should be a first second and third with points accordingly.

LoafofSellotape · 30/09/2026 12:31

I really like Lucy, she makes me laugh. The points system seems unnecessary.

Tallisker · 30/09/2026 12:35

I usually find Lucy very funny, but unfortunately not in this.

StillSpartacus · 30/09/2026 13:12

I’m enjoying this - I like the points system, which has meant not losing someone who might otherwise be good, for having a poor week. It has allowed Paul to develop and I have loved watching this. Other programmes should take note.

Having to fast forward through bits with Layton.
I cannot bear his pretentiousness.
Love Liza though.
Anybody remember her in Watching from many years ago?
