Anyone else excited to see how Nigella gets on as the new judge? A worthy successor to Pru and Mary, I think.

This year they seem to have gone out to get the most unappealing, annoying contestants possible. Only a few of them seem to be able to actually bake at all. I've seen better efforts from school kids.

I stood up to put the dishwasher on during the ads. Now there is no room for my arse on the couch!!! Darn doggos!

I agree! I was just wondering if I've got even more intolerant in my old age because I find so many of them annoying! It makes me want to go back and watch some of the previous series again, when I could relax and enjoy the baking instead of feeling on edge all the time.

Yep. Pretty much unwatchable. Why does everything have to be ruined? Supposed to be about the baking, for goodness sake.

I’d find it very difficult to work around Danni. She may be lovely but loud. Unless the producers have edited to make her seem OTT.

I miss the old bake off series
there was such lovely people with the odd exception
But bar the odd one or two this lot are just not people you warm to

We have to bear the edit in mind with everyone.

I gave up several series ago after not enjoying the move to channel 4, but thought I’d try again with Nigella on board. I actually like Nigella as a judge, but they have stayed with “interesting” contestants instead of people who can bake.

I’m not inspired by the challenges either, cookies are great, but Iced Gems are minging and who wants a biscuit mosaic?

I feel the same apart from a few exceptions namely Tom. They can’t even bake biscuits.
