I love it but wouldn't agree that the unnecessary sex and nudity is toned down that much in later seasons tbh. It was joked about as tits and dragons for a reason!
Maybe less sexposition in Littlefinger's brothel but the nudity and threat of violence, including sexual violence towards women carries on pretty much throughout (series 5 and 6 with Ramsey and Littlefinger and the walk of atonement for example - trying to avoid spoilers).
On one hand the middle ages (which it is a fantasy replication of) were violent and women were treated badly in many ways.
However, on the other hand Westeros does seem to be even less feminist (for lack of a better word) than the 'real world' at that time - things like GRRM killing off so many female characters in childbirth (yes it was a danger but nowhere like the extent he represents it!), no representations of non-upper class women in positions of power (e.g. female craftswomen or members of guilds or the equivalents of nunneries), minimisation of the role religion played in people's lives which would have protected women to some extent, etc.
He's also very gung-ho about dealing out SA towards his female characters but it's hardly ever/never mentioned in relation to any of the male ones - in reality a war/army environment or somewhere like the Wall would have been rife with it.
It was something the series was criticised for even when it aired, and it's unsurprising that 15 years later, post me-too etc. it's off-putting. In fairness the spin off series seem to have learned from it and the SV isn't as gratuitous imho.
If it bothers you more than any enjoyment you are getting I wouldn't force yourself to watch it OP.
