A social experiment with Josie Gibson

who eats and drinks and exercises in the way they did in 1970’s

Even if you were hungry after your 70s meal you couldn't pop to the shops for sweets and crisps. They would be closed from 5.30pm, and also half day mid week and all day Sunday.

My 70s diet was very carb heavy and consisted of things like homemade chips, egg and beans, meat and potato pie and peas, Findus crispy pancakes and chips, Smash and cod in butter sauce with peas. We didn’t really have anything for sweet but had a biscuit with a cup of tea for supper. Oh and diluted orange squash when the pop man fizzy drinks had all gone.

I loved school dinners. i couldn't understand why other people complained about them.. they had mothers who could cook!

I hated most of the school dinners in particular the days we had liver and lumpy grey mash. Loved the puddings though!
