Suggestions for light-hearted series to download for a plane journey

Hello all,

This is a weird one. Im an anxious traveller and looking for something interesting to watch which will keep my interest for about 3hrs! Last time i zoomed through Nobody Wants This and really enjoyed it. I love The Bear but i couldnt access Disney even though id downloaded it. I also had Cobra Kai downloaded but got bored.

So i guess im looking for some ideas, bit lighthearted but will keep my mind busy. Currently planning to download Amandaland, maybe go back to Motherland as both leads are brilliant. Maybe Fleabag but i dont want to do the sad stuff she goes through.

Any other tips?

Thank you! I’m following for suggestions as well. If you like gentle mysteries I found the Madame Blanc Mysteries on Netflix was quite uplifting. Sort of like a modern Lovejoy.

Schitts Creek - you need to get past the first couple of episodes and then it’s just the best.
I’m envious that you have it all ahead of you!

Have you seen Crashing? I think it’s on Netflix. It’s by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and is about a group of people who are property guardians. It’s quite a while since I watched it but I remember really enjoying it.

@FlamingJune2026 loved schitts creek when I saw it before, so well written. Thinking whether to see it again. Have never seen Ted Lasso. Might do Motherland or Amandaland!

There's a show on Amazon called off campus but it might be too risqué for the plane. Can imagine its very me!

So many good suggestions here OP ! I would recommend Detectorists and Small Prophets from the Beeb. And Ghosts as pp. I can watch Schitt’s Creek on a loop anyway. I am jealous now ! Tho I don’t enjoy flying particularly these new fangled thingies help so much. Have a great time !

@SNESRainbowRoad I paid the higher subscription because I wanted downloads for my kids devices as well. I always cancel as soon as im back. Perhaps I didnt need to!
