Grin Raahh

Silverbirchleaf · 02/07/2026 21:15

Why does the interviewer stand so far away? I understood during Covid years, but why now?

kazzaD66 · 02/07/2026 21:15

It certainly will be a pretty match Grigor Grin

JaneJeffer · 02/07/2026 21:15

A pretty match it will be indeed

Raahh · 02/07/2026 21:15

Yes Grigor, it will be a very pretty match Grin

I was just remarking on that. Maybe for camera angles or something? It looks odd though.

I've answered one of my questions. Apparently Nalbandian joined the coaching team in February.

Raahh · 02/07/2026 21:31

I've just seen a clip of Tiafoe's rip-off trousers.
He needs to walk on to 'Making your mind up' if he's going to pull stunts like that.

But really, all the 'walk on outfits' need to be banned.

So pleased for Grigor.

IceandIndigo · 03/07/2026 09:51

We had such a brilliant day yesterday. It turned out our seats on Court 1 were in the sunniest section of the stadium facing the umpire's chair so were extremely hot, but it worked out ok because we weren't especially interested in watching Sascha's match against Royer, which was in the hottest part of the day.

We instead managed to get a great posy overlooking Court 18 for a set of Marta Kostyuk vs Anna Blinkova, and also saw bits of Sonego-Diallo (on a tiny court with lots of rowdy Italian fans), and Maria Sakkari — can confirm her biceps are very impressive at close range! Got my frozen Lavazza which I've been craving for a year, and chilled out on Henman Hill to watch Matteo and Arthur. Then we went back to Court 1 to watch Grigor, which was the highlight of the day.

kazzaD66 · 03/07/2026 10:13

Glad you had a good day ice
That's the good thing about having show court tickets in the first few days. You can wander around and see loads of good matches on the outside courts, whilst knowing your ticketed seat is always waiting for you Grin
I'm sure Grigor was special!

StartupRepair · 03/07/2026 11:18

Sounds like a gorgeous day.

Raahh · 03/07/2026 11:26

That sounds like a great day Ice. I have always been very jealous os Maria's arms Grin.

I bet the Grigor match was great.

I'm settling in to watch Safiullin/Fonseca.

Safiullin is playing so well! I feel like I haven't seen him for ages, not sure if he was injured.

5MilesMax · 03/07/2026 11:48

Hope it's ok to join in, great hearing from inside from Wimbledon Ice.

StartupRepair · 03/07/2026 11:51

Safiullin is playing well..

Fizzywinegum · 03/07/2026 12:34

Sounds like you had a great day Ice - I would have loved to have seen the Grigor match - he was so emotional in his on court speech

I’m not watching at the minute but I’m sure once I start watching that will be me done for the day - I quite like Rinderknech but not sure how he will fare against Djok (hi de hi)

Raahh · 03/07/2026 12:47

Roman is playing well- whoever wins this will play the winner of Rinderknech/Djok (ho-de-ho).
Joao does not look like he is about to repeat his performance ar RG. But, as they've just said, he came back from 3 sets dwon , twice at RG- he ,ight do it again here.
I think the crowds are obviously way more muted- the Brazilians are not giving him the rowdy support he was getting in Paris.

I did not like the stat earlier, that amongst Djoks wins Wimbledon since 2010, 4 have been when it has been a World Cup year. I'm hoping that is a trend that ends now.

Fizzywinegum · 03/07/2026 13:10

Oh dear I’ve sat down and put the telly on - I’ve got lots of things to do in the house - never mind

Hopefully Djok’s World Cup trend will end this year - wonder if we’ll get playful Djok today (I think I prefer him when he’s just his usual obnoxious self!)

Fizzywinegum · 03/07/2026 13:17

I’ve just seen a clip on Tennis Channel’s insta of Grigor talking about laundry - it’s hilarious - he talks about how he sorts the loads and which detergent he uses - he obviously takes it very seriously (and is probably much better than Sascha!)

Raahh · 03/07/2026 13:22

Well done Roman.

JaneJeffer · 03/07/2026 13:22

Well done Roman

IceandIndigo · 03/07/2026 13:23

Well done Roman. Great performance from him. Hopefully he can bring this level against Djok.

ChessieFL · 03/07/2026 13:23

I’m at work again today so just scorewatching. Glad you had a good day ice - you saw some great matches!

It is good having a show court ticket knowing that your seat is always waiting for you while you go off and watch other things, but equally I always feel a bit guilty leaving it empty especially when you see people who couldn’t get tickets complaining about the empty seats. It’s a shame they can’t come up with some system where you can let someone temporarily use your seat while you’re not. I know this is probably far too much hassle/would lead to problems if the temporary people won’t go when their time’s up, but would be a nice idea. I suppose another option might be to make the show court tickets per match rather than all day but I definitely wouldn’t want them to go down that route!

JaneJeffer · 03/07/2026 13:25

Oh I wasn’t expecting the crying 🥺
