So the 'Who Killed Theo' saga carries on. I think we should find out who it is soon... Fit Kit and Swain are on the case still. (For what its worth!) 😆

Poor Sam has been sectioned, and is quite unwell, and has been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Gary and Sarah are in cahoots about something, (related to Theo's death, I think.) Oh, and Maria thinks they're having an affair.

Some random lads are chasing and threatening Brodeh. Who knows why!

Ma Driscoll has been quiet for a while.

Will is still sneakily staying in touch with Megan Trainer!

Alya's cousin Idris (who has never been mentioned before AFAIK) has appeared on the street, and has been seeing Leanne.

Carl, Kevin, and dishy Ronnie have buried the hatchet (for now! Hopefully it lasts!)

And what is Jodie going to do with Carl's gun?!

Sorry if I've missed anything!

I couldn’t make out what Christina had done with the CC Statement

Me neither, assume she’s in debt? She kept going for a wee too in every scene. Health issue she’s spending money on privately? Just an initial guess!

Whatever was the point of the Alice and Mal thing?

No point whatsoever. All forgotten about now 🤷‍♀️

Shellingbynight · 09/07/2026 09:06

Yes what was the point of Bernie and Mal. He hung around being evil for a few weeks but it all went nowhere (except the tiny pointless fire).

We will see that guy in the bar again, they don't introduce speaking characters for nothing nowadays. He'll be back.

Idris is horrible. They cannot do a good villain to save their lives nowadays.

LesserSpottedCharacter · 09/07/2026 10:57

Did the guy in the bar used to be in The Bill? I recognise him from somewhere.

If that is his own hair he is a very good advert for why men shouldn't dye their hair, it's very rarely a good look. That is my shallow, bitchy comment for the day, my one little indulgence (who was it who used to say that?). I shall behave myself for the rest of the day hopefully.

Shellingbynight · 09/07/2026 11:38

Yes you're right, he's been in the Bill, also EastEnders. I think he has a good mop of hair but I agree it would look better with some silver! Maybe they wanted him to look a bit younger.

There was a line by Cassie “haven’t we met before?” or similar. Corrie writers like a signpost so I’m guessing he’s from her past somehow. Longlost brother maybe? Especially as they didn’t get it on!

Edited

Maybe Tyrone’s dad? I can’t remember the story about her getting pregnant. Was she abused or a sex worker?

SabreIsMyFave · 09/07/2026 13:17

Also wondering about the significance of the man at the bar with Cassie.

On TV, when a couple has a row/disagreement, they don't waste much time before going off out trying to find someone else to shag do they? 😬

And yes, Mal and Alice. What was the point, and who the f*ck is Alice? We never saw her!

OP posts:
LesserSpottedCharacter · 09/07/2026 13:38

who the fck is Alice*

They should play that in the background if Mal is ever seen or mentioned again.

I think he’d remember her tbh no one is that gobby! Maybe it’s one of her drug dealers

HurdyGurdy19 · 09/07/2026 14:47

I assume the man in the hotel bar is Tyrone's dad. With Cassie's expression when she saw his name on the bar bill, together with Hope and Ruby acting very suspiciously, with "a surprise" for Tyrone, it's all pointing that way.

I suppose Hope and Ruby have tracked him down after getting his name from Tyrone's birth certificate. But if he hung around long enough to have his name added to the birth certificate, then wouldn't Cassie have known him, and therefore, either he or Cassie would have recognised the other?

I suppose it's always possible that Cassie and [Margi Clarke] were estranged, or just didn't see that much of each other.

But then would [Margi Clarke,] have told Cassie the name of the father of her baby?

  • sorry, I can't remember Tyrone's mum's name
Shellingbynight · 09/07/2026 15:35

Yes that does sound likely @HurdyGurdy19
He is obviously significant in some way.
Maybe Hope and Ruby used a genealogy site for a school project? I suppose you could track down a relative that way (? no idea).

I have lost the will to live with what we're supposed to know about Tyrone's relatives who keep turning up out of the woodwork with different stories.

JohnBullshit · 09/07/2026 15:38

Jackie was Tyrone's other mum.
I haven't consciously watched that actor in anything, and I still thought 'Wasn't he a cop in something or other?'. He doesn't have the kind of face you'd forget if you'd known him long enough to (accidentally) make a baby.
So yeah, he probably is Tyrone's father. Because that's how they roll, on the cobbles.

SabreIsMyFave · 09/07/2026 18:28

Talking about Jackie (who was Tyrone's mum in the noughties,) why did his mum suddenly become Clair Sweeney? Anyone know?

OP posts:
12234m · 09/07/2026 19:14

I thought Tyrone's dad too.

when Evelyn came in I thought she was a scam artist. I suspect as the audience liked her they changed that quickly.

Margi Clarke was maybe adoptive mum?

HaddyAbrams · 09/07/2026 19:31

I assumed the random man in the bar was Tyrone's biological dad too.

Was this revealed at the time (noughties,) that Margi was Tyrone's adoptive mum? Or did they rewrite history - again!

.

thenightsky · 09/07/2026 20:24

I thought Tyrone's mum just had a change of heads.

SabreIsMyFave · 09/07/2026 20:25

Just googled! Looks like they did rewrite history (sort of...)

Re: Jackie (Tyrone's 'mum.') From Wiki...

Jackie (played by Margi Clarke) was Tyrone's legal mum and he grew up believing she was his biological mother. However, this changed in a 2018 storyline when Tyrone discovered that Jackie was not his biological mother and that he was actually born to Evelyn Plummer's daughter, Cassie (played by Claire Sweeney...)

@thenightsky I was half thinking a change of head had occurred, but they changed Tyrone's mum altogether!

!

Margi Clarke was great as Ty's mum, they never should have changed it with that absurd back story

the statement was in Mary’s name. So presumably implying she’s taken out a credit card in Mary’s name? Eastenders just had that storyline though!

bizzey · 10/07/2026 01:20

Claire Sweeney is just playing Miss Hannigan in every scene now , with the curl and snarl of her lips and mouth.

(She has got big shoes to fill !!)

Shellingbynight · 10/07/2026 08:40

I don't know what the constantly weeing is about. Although one of those was to allow Glenda to look in her handbag, so it may not be significant.

Christina talked about buying things to cheer herself up. I wonder how much of that she does. Quite a lot if she's taking out fraudulent cards!

I find Christina is fine in small doses doing comic stuff but she was awful in the now completely forgotten George and the (not) dodgy Will plot.

Spidey66 · 10/07/2026 09:52

I think he's Tyrone's dad. I think the girls are something to do with it eg sending off his DNA?

SabreIsMyFave · 10/07/2026 09:57

Oh yeah @Shellingbynight that 'will plot' has been forgotten along with the arguments and bad feeling between Jodie, and Shona and David. Jodie moved back in with them with nothing mentioned about what she did!

OP posts:
SabreIsMyFave · 10/07/2026 09:59

The mystery man could possibly be Tyrone's dad, but how would Cassie not know him until she saw his name?
