So the 'Who Killed Theo' saga carries on. I think we should find out who it is soon... Fit Kit and Swain are on the case still. (For what its worth!) 😆

Poor Sam has been sectioned, and is quite unwell, and has been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Gary and Sarah are in cahoots about something, (related to Theo's death, I think.) Oh, and Maria thinks they're having an affair.

Some random lads are chasing and threatening Brodeh. Who knows why!

Ma Driscoll has been quiet for a while.

Will is still sneakily staying in touch with Megan Trainer!

Alya's cousin Idris (who has never been mentioned before AFAIK) has appeared on the street, and has been seeing Leanne.

Carl, Kevin, and dishy Ronnie have buried the hatchet (for now! Hopefully it lasts!)

And what is Jodie going to do with Carl's gun?!

Sorry if I've missed anything!

It was soooo funny wasn't it? 'I'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy...! 😂

And TracyLuv ripping the piss out of Cassie in the pub! Really funny. 😆

Poor Cassie though, being turned down by Steve, who reacted as if she had just asked him if he fancied a day trip to Rhyl. 'Meh, nah, it's OK, we're OK here aren't we? Maybe pop to to the park for a picnic. CBA with the drive.' She was pouring her heart out, and he stamped all over it. 😢 I think he likes Cassie, but only as a girlfriend/partner, clearly not marriage material in his eyes.

I agree that Streetcars need to update their prices.

Poor Brodeh getting wrapped up in Idris's hard man games! Seems he doesn't want to though. I was warming to him too. Hope they don't turn him rotten.

Poor little Alfie. I hope he'll be OK.

Poor Cassie! It’s even more of a slap in the face when you know Steve has been married to virtually every other woman on the street! But didn’t Tracy Hugo work pretty hard to snare Steve herself?

thenightsky · 07/07/2026 14:42

They are trying to do a repeat of Karen-Tracy with Cassie-Tracy. But for me it doesn't work as I can't stand Cassie, they have not developed her character. She just does stuff (like drugging Ken) then everyone except Tracy has amnesia about it.

I've never liked Cassie as character. She just doesn't work with Steve. And yes about the amnesia over the poisoning of Ken. Bit like David and Shona's amnesia over throwing Jodie out.

Oh very true! Poor Cassie can't convince the most married man on the street to marry her! 😬 And yes, Tracy did work very hard to snare Steve, and she seemed to like him for years, yet she went off with that Tommy Orpington bloke. That was a daft storyline IMO.

I am looking forward to seeing Cassie as Miss Hannigan in Annie next month.

NCTDN · 07/07/2026 21:08

DH also commented on the streetcars prices the other day!

But I did like the scenes with Tracy afterwards in the pub. She is good value. I am pretty sure the long term plan is to get Steve and Tracy back together, Cassie has always seemed 'temporary'. Although nowadays everything seems temporary on Corrie!

Shame Abi's face doesn't allow her to emote nowadays. She'll do a lot of shouting though.

Yes I can’t stand Cassie either, I liked actress as Lynsey Corkhill better

Lorrymum · 07/07/2026 22:26

I must have missed a bit. Im not sure why Brodie was beating up a grown man. Did he sell the damp flat to Idris?
Didn't Brodie run away from 3 teenage lads and hide behind Bernie during the ridiculous "holiday for the girls"?

Shellingbynight · 08/07/2026 08:50

Yes @Lorrymum he sold the flat to Idris. I suppose they are trying to add 'complexity' to Idris - he is so horrified about poor Alfie and the damp that the soft hearted devil gets a teenager to beat up the vendor. I suppose I shouldn't expect it to any sense.

Cassie and Steve always seem very forced together and the actress will always be Lindsey Corkhill to me!

Agreed about the other amnesia issues with Jodie. You do end up thinking you've missed an episode.

zanahoria · 08/07/2026 09:32

I don't even understand why Abi did not give the flat the once over after spotting some damp. Most people would be checking all over.

Andepeda · 08/07/2026 10:28

How can you put a fitted sheet on a bed against a wall without noticing thick black mould as high as the mattress?

eggandonion · 08/07/2026 10:36

Do we know anything about Abis background? Did she have a stable childhood or grow up in chaos?
Although she ia always very polished herself so not noticing grubby surroundings is strange.
(I have just cleaned out my shower door gunky bits . I'd prefer not to notice them).

That bed moved so easily. How long as she lived there? Has she never pulled the bed out to hoover, make the bed, look for lost toys etc? Skanky mare.

zanahoria · 08/07/2026 10:44

I loved the closing camera pan on the mould as if it were some alien life form creeping on them

zanahoria · 08/07/2026 10:49

It made me laugh how easy it was to bundle that bloke into the car. Brody just shouted get in so he did.

Then Abi does not even bother to call the police on her dodgy landlord

MaePedwarGolau · 08/07/2026 11:03

Was the guy Idris got the flat from the same guy he kicked out on Coronation Street (of all places) and then threatened in the ginnel on the day he arrived?

eggandonion · 08/07/2026 11:13

I think Idris should just go away. I don't need a bad landlord story. Kevin will sort things.
Alyas reputation as a top solicitor isn't going to be enhanced.

Shellingbynight · 08/07/2026 12:37

@Andepeda I thought the same. She could not have failed to notice it.

It is a serious subject but it was so badly done that it just seems like a throwaway plot device.

TipsyPeachSnake · 08/07/2026 16:53

I’m loving that they’ve kept Carl on, hopefully long term, he really is a good actor / character.

Idris showing he has some morals too rushing to hospital to tell Abbie of the mould he found was unexpected. Agree with others I thought he wanted to launder money through speed dhal, may happen but I’m sure that exact story line has been done before with speed dhal?

It's right that there should be some complexity to the characters I.e not all bad, otherwise they would just be like pantomime villains

Empress13 · 08/07/2026 21:31

Idris and Abi will get together ! What is Cassie going to do I thought it was going to be Mal all over again lol

TipsyPeachSnake · 08/07/2026 22:15

Cassie recognised that man’s name on the receipt. I wonder who he is?

eggandonion · 08/07/2026 22:26

Whatever was the point of the Alice and Mal thing?

Deadringer · 08/07/2026 22:42

I was thinking that about Abi and Idris too Empress, i reckon he is just her type.

I couldn’t make out what Christina had done with the CC Statement

There was a line by Cassie “haven’t we met before?” or similar. Corrie writers like a signpost so I’m guessing he’s from her past somehow. Longlost brother maybe? Especially as they didn’t get it on!
