Obituary (https://www.playpilot.com/show/obituary-2023), which was created by Ray Lawlor for RTÉ and first aired in 2023, is coming soon to ITV – and it sounds like it'll be one that fans of shows like Dexter (https://www.playpilot.com/show/dexter)and Sweetpea (https://www.playpilot.com/show/sweetpea-2024-series) shouldn't miss out on.
The comedy-thriller is set in a small Irish town, and stars Siobhán Cullen (The Dry (https://www.playpilot.com/show/the-dry-2022-series), Bodkin (https://www.playpilot.com/show/bodkin-2024-series)) as Elvira Clancy, who writes obituaries for the local newspaper.
The synopsis for the series reveals that when she's moved to a "pay-per-death" structure, Elvira "discovers she has a hidden talent for murder".
"By eliminating the town's most unlikable residents, she ensures both her job security and a steady stream of creative writing, all while trying to evade the suspicions of the town's handsome new crime reporter," it adds.
The cast also includes Michael Smiley (Bad Sisters (https://www.playpilot.com/show/bad-sisters-2022-series), Bloodlands (https://www.playpilot.com/show/bloodlands-2020)), Ronán Raftery (Gangs of London (https://www.playpilot.com/show/gangs-of-london-2020-series), The Rook (https://www.playpilot.com/show/the-rook-2019)), and Danielle Galligan (House of Guinness (https://www.playpilot.com/show/house-of-guinness-2025-series), The Walsh Sisters (https://www.playpilot.com/show/the-walsh-sisters-2025)).
