Looks like the old thread is ending and I had a Jannik-panic Grin.

I am prepared to forgive the boringness of Jannik winning RG and Wimbledon as long as he takes Djok out on the way.

The trailer for Rafa’s Netflix documentary is out!

That looks great- looks like we get to see quite a bit of baby Rafa too.

Poor Jannik. Everyone is going to be so sick of him winning everything. Carlos will have overwhelming support when he returns Grin Holger needs to sneak in there and win Wimbledon.

That would be amazing.

I do feel sorry for Jannik really. There is hardly any competition for him and that's not his fault.

Even better, would be if Casper could win Wimbledon.

But I see pigs flying...Grin

Another loss for Stef- I suppose losing to Tien (ranking wise) is not an upset , but given Stef's history, he really should be winning more matches.

OP posts:
IceandIndigo · 20/05/2026 11:35

I was hoping Stef would win but Learner is a really smart tactical player. He quickly worked out how to draw errors out of Stef.

Raahh · 20/05/2026 13:27

Casper's match about to start.

I think he lost to Collignon in a 5 set match at the US Open.

The sound is terrible on Sky, as usual .

OP posts:
Raahh · 20/05/2026 13:46

Has started well for Casper- already down a break.

OP posts:
Raahh · 20/05/2026 14:03
Hmm I'm already thinking that Casper is going to have to win this in 3, if he's going to win at all.

There have been a few big name losses already today across both Hamburg and Geneva.

OP posts:
Raahh · 20/05/2026 14:17

I went to the loo, and came back to find Casper has finally got the break- and Sky have taken the match off to show the end of the Zhang match, ffs.

Angry.

OP posts:
Raahh · 20/05/2026 14:20

ugh. Tie break.

OP posts:
Raahh · 20/05/2026 14:26

Great tie break.

I will probably miss the end of the match- so I hope Casper has the momentum now.

Couldn’t remember who was showing RG. Finally found it on TNT RB but can only watch one match. I presume when it starts properly they will have a choice?

I can't remember what happened last year. I just remember it being dire. Although, in years gone by, there was never much of a choice at RG anyway, even with Eurosport- until I got Discovery plus (and that was fairly recent)- and ITV only ever showed 2 matches.

What I do remember is TNT was useless and kept missing bits of matches to talk about matches in the 'studio'.

And I've never forgiven them for messing up Rafa's tribute.

StanBear has taken his match to a tie break in the first st against Michelsen.

Come on Stan!

OP posts:
Raahh · 20/05/2026 17:56

Oh dear. Stan has really destroyed his racquet after going 1-5 down in the tie break. Maybe not how he wants to be remembered, if he loses.

Smug face here.............. it's the one tournament I can watch sans aucun problème avec Justine et Fabrice!!

But I have a very social week next week so don't know how much I will see. Lots of lovely invites out to lunch - and that starts at noon & goes until early evening! (When I come home, slump into chair & snooze until bedtime!)

Should see more of the second week.

Rub it in, why don't you Grin

(Your social calendar sounds great) Mine revolves mostly around Car MOTs , dentist, and dog grooming Grin.

That is lovely.

That really is a lovely tribute.

So many players are retiring this year. Sad

The RG draw has taken place- Jannik and Djok are in opposite sides- abut Djok has drawn GMP in the first round which could be tricky. or not. He's in the same part of the draw as Casper as well.

Stan's last match at RG is against Arthur Fils. That's a tough one, for his final tournament there.

OP posts:
Raahh · 21/05/2026 13:59

Buse from the qualifier from Peru is continuing his good run in Hamburg, he's just beaten Humbert,

Casper due to start his match soon in Geneva.

That really is a lovely tribute by Elina.

Bloody Djok. I knew he'd be in the bottom half of the draw! I hope he loses early.

Not easy for Stan, which is a shame.

Toby Samuel has come through qualifying! Apparently, he's never played an ATP match before, having been ranked outside the top 1,300 a year ago, and his prize money for playing the first round is nearly double his career earnings before this week!
