So finally the Megan/Will storyline is coming to an end! Sam is still not well though, poor lad...

Connor-Swain and Fit Kit are busy trying to find Theo's killer, and everyone Todd is close to is taking it in turns to babysit him!

Tim is trying to come to terms with the realisation that the thing he had with an older woman (Trisha) 40 years ago, (when he was 14) was actually abuse...

Shona's sister Jodie has managed to push herself into Daniel's house (and his life,) and seems to flit from place to place, with no actual luggage or money!

I know there's probably more... Smile

Oooooooh, so now Sam is seeing an imaginary Roy. I thought it was out of character, Roy being so chatty and giving so much advice, and saying 'we're the same you and me Sam!' (And putting his arm around Sam!)

I wonder what imaginary Roy will tell Sam to do. Shock

Sam needs to be whisked off and sorted out in a special unit of the hospital ASAP. I wish the murder was sorted without the other complex stuff.

the80sweregreat · 15/05/2026 21:41

I thought the ‘imagined Roy ‘ was weird as well.
Then it dawned on me that Sam was thinking this stuff.
poor kid needs help.

RockinCara · 15/05/2026 23:03

What the heck did Sam take? It’s really strong shit!

AmusedMaker · 15/05/2026 23:10

Not liking the Sam storyline at all. The scenes with him and Roy are too weird and creepy:

I have been wondering (with Megan Trainer knowing about Ma Driscoll being there when Pa Driscoll had a tumble down the stairs,) as Megan overheard it from Ben's ex Mel .... how did Mel know? How does ANYone know?

If I was at the top of the stairs with my husband and we were having an argument, and he stumbled and fell, (and died) and I rang the police and told them I wasn't there when he fell, I would NEVER tell anyone I was actually really there after all. Not a soul. Not even my children. Too much of a risk of it getting out eventually....... Never tell anyone ANYthing that you don't want anyone else to know.

.

Edited

You never mention your husband. ……🤔

Eva was wearing PJs because it was early morning, she was complaining about Ben chucking Ma’s stuff out so early.

They are spending far too much time on this Sam storyline.

No much happened did it really, apart from the Ben rows and Sam hallucinating Roy.

Oh and Jodie trying to get Dorin high on sugar so she could get another job.

JewelleryCat · 16/05/2026 09:19

Harriet Bibby is 28?! She looks so much younger. How old is Summer supposed to be?

Was some of the conversation between Roy and Sam in the Bistro imagined as well as on the bench? I thought it was just the conversation on the bench

JellyBeanSpring25 · 16/05/2026 09:50

The middle conversation in the bistro office (ie when Roy was actually back at his flat with the builders) and the scene on the bench were hallucinations. There were some very subtle changes in David Neilson’s perfomance which I thought were fab; his body movement, his stance, slight change in voice, facial expressions. He’s an excellent actor.

Shellingbynight · 16/05/2026 10:20

I agree about the changes in David Neilson's performance, that was very well done. I still hate this storyline though.

the80sweregreat · 16/05/2026 10:24

It looked uncomfortable with Roy having his arm around him. He isn’t known for being tactile usually is he.
It was well done , but Sam needs to reach out as he is struggling. I agree that Roy is a good actor though.

FloraDora2 · 16/05/2026 10:38

I think the writers have gone too far with the Sam hallucinations story. It's becoming weird and a somewhat uncomfortable watch. I've never warmed to the Sam character even when he was a small boy and people thought he was cute. As for Summer I'm sick of her miserable face. Sorry for the negative post but only being honest. 🫤

Yes he’s usually more reticent and it was very good

wish Jodie would get lost

Kinfluencer · 16/05/2026 11:02

I thought it was really well done re Sam/Roy

Now Im wondering if " Roy" told Sam to sort Theo but actually cant see where Sam has even been aware of Todd/ Theo and the DV?

The Sam actor must be about GCSEs age ? 15 /16 so he could join Max/ Dylan never be seen again

  • complete speculation ,I have no idea who topped Theo and dont really care at this point

It feels like it is just making a drama for the sake of it rather than raising an issue and creating an accurate portrayal of someone with that problem, not sure how much research they have done here.

I am also a bit bored with Sam

and continuing the soap cliche of putting stuff out on the pavement in binbags, if he was really angry he would have chucked it out the bedroom window

Andepeda · 16/05/2026 11:49

I'm really looking forward to the revamped cafe, unless Roy has opted for a replica of the old one of course, with extra rail memorabilia.

Sam's troubles are just too extreme now, it's fast forward time for me.

TipsyPeachSnake · 16/05/2026 11:52

Yes Roy having arm around Sam is so out of character it makes it clear, along with his brilliant performance, that is another hallucination.

I’m actually enjoying Sam’s interactions with the other characters when he’s hallucinating, It is shwing great acting ability, particularly from Will who previously just showed as a stroppy teenager storming out of rooms. His taunting and menacing behaviour towards Sam in the hallucinations is very good.

JewelleryCat · 16/05/2026 12:04

@Kinfluencer I don’t see how Roy could have told Sam about Theo and to sort him out? I’m not sure Roy knew about the DV either, he and Todd aren’t close

the80sweregreat · 16/05/2026 12:21

Have any of you ever seen the upstairs of the Rovers? When I watched it decades ago they only ever showed that one room. It’s never really changed much. Where do they prepare the food ? Do you ever see the bedrooms ?

It was ever thus.

I didn't like the imagined Roy. It was well done as the changes were very subtle and if you didn't know him already you wouldn't know the difference.

@the80sweregreat I think the kitchen is through the living room at the Rovers, whether that's their personal one or the pub one, I don't know, or whether they have separate ones at all. Ours not to reason why! Did we see upstairs in Bette Lynch's day?

FieryA · 16/05/2026 12:54

Jodie is really irritating. How does everyone end up listening to her and believing her? Daniel, Bertie, Shona- not one person doubts her. David didn't even tell the whole story to Shona that Jodie said he made being raped. I mean that's vicious.

the80sweregreat · 16/05/2026 13:08

Wouldn’t the fact that they serve food mean they need a separate kitchen ?
I don’t recall seeing upstairs at the Rovers years ago.

When Steve was married to Becky they had a living room upstairs in the Rovers.

Not sure where it went, became another bedroom I expect.

NCTDN · 16/05/2026 13:24

There is a kitchen upstairs in the rovers- I remember it from years ago. There was a fire at some point and I can’t remember of it was sometimes shown before or after that fire.
