I agree that was daft. Messing around (in a factory) with the product you're making, and whizzing around on chairs and trollies and the like would warrant a warning from the boss! It's a health and satety hazard. Really daft. I think they're trying to inject a bit of humour into it, but that was a bit nonsensical.
I agree (as some have said,) that Corrie is not what it used to be. It used to be a drama about working class folk in the north, and their lives. Neighbourhood disputes, on-off relationships and affairs, cheeky teenagers, and the general day to day troubles and goings on of working class folk in a northern town,
My parents and grandparents recognised themselves (and people they knew) in it too. (And so did I.)
It's now become largely like a crime drama, full of thugs, and bad guys, and murders. And there are a lot of storylines invoIving teenagers/young 20-somethings, and not much involving the older cast members/cast who have been in it 15-20 years or more. I guess everything has to change and nothing stays the same, but it is a shame.
They do put out a few good episodes a month though, and when it gets to the point where I'm thinking 'meh, I CBA with this anymore,' it starts to get good again. It's like a really old friend or family member you've known since you were a child, they get on your nerves sometimes, and you don't care if you don't see them for a few weeks.... But you can't let go as you do have some good times with them, (and have in the past,) they make you laugh sometimes, and you go back so far and have a lot of history together, and deep down, there's a place in your heart for them, and always will be. No matter what, I can't seem to shake myself out of watching Corrie. Been watching it for nearly 50 years now, and I find it hard to stop. Even though sometimes I do think 'nah, this is not what it used to be.'
I said about this time last year, if it doesn't improve by the end of 2025, I'm stopping watching it, then by mid Autumn time, it started to get better again, and it was good for a few months.
Whilst I think it's OK at the moment, (not brilliant but OK,) and I'm not at the point where I feel like bailing, I think it was definitely better pre 2000s. Even in Classic Corrie, (currently in mid 2008,) whilst it's better than it is now, you can see it going downhill a bit. As some Corrie fans have said on here, it started going downhill when the Connors came into it. I like Kym Marsh, but Michelle Connor is a dreadful character, and even Carla is pretty horrible in Classic Corrie. The way she treated Maria was shocking.
