It's a freakshow because that's what people want to watch. If they did make it about actually trying to get couples to fall in love while behaving like adults and being respectful to each other everyone would say it was boring. I mean, all anyone wants is dinnerparties because that's where shit goes down.
All this 'having a support system is an important part of the experiment' shit that John spouts is complete bullshit, they want interaction because interaction either causes tension or lust for another bride/groom.

Absolutely agree, it’s all about drama and what is perceived as good entertainment. I saw a snippet of an interview with one of them who said the producers would almost goad them at the dinner parties, telling them it was the dullest one they’d ever seen etc.

Gawd, just trying to catch up. I've watched last night but still haven't watched the DP. Last night went pretty much as expected but glad David walked off before Alissa could whine at him.

I listened recently to a podcast where they interviewed Alissa (not my fave person tbh) She said the dinner party where they laid into her went on for 4 hours and we saw a tiny amount of it. Said not one producer came in to intervene! Apparently they are all assigned a Therapist (she is still seeing hers allegedly ) so yes 💯 it’s purely for drama the more dramatic the better. If a couple can get through all that and come out the other side even better. She ended with saying she wouldn’t wish the experience on anyone lol

I think they should have more potential couples lined up to replace the couples who turn out to be completely wrong for each other, instead of making them stay and dragging it out to farcical levels.
