Welcome to the EastEnders spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on BBC iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

I still miss Shirley. She was epic.

gingercat02 · 08/05/2026 17:22

Me too @murasaki

Apparently EE fans are melting down online (not sure where) because Dianne Parish gave an interview saying she wants to leave when she’s done 20 years on EE. She joined in 2006 so they are ‘distraught’ and convinced the Cancer storyline is her exit. But it would appear she’s alive and kicking in the flashforward and strong enough to argue with Jack storm out of the house!

the80sweregreat · 08/05/2026 21:16

I’d miss Dee, but like most characters, once they have gone , you move on! It’ll be sad, but as long as she gets Julia’s theme and a decent send off we shall all be fine.

Southeastdweller · 08/05/2026 21:20

I read an article on Digital Spy from the BBC about Denise’s story running into 2027, so she won’t be getting the all clear by New Year’s Day. Most people who have this type of leukaemia in their 50s and beyond die from it within five years.

I will miss Denise though. I can understand why actors want out , it must be grueling being on a soap and she is one of the better actresses and very natural.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 08/05/2026 21:26

IS DENISE LEAVING?!?!

the80sweregreat · 08/05/2026 21:27

No, I don’t know if she is leaving, but doing this particular story doesn’t bode well :(

Shellingbynight · 09/05/2026 08:21

If Diane Parish wants to leave it would be a strange and horrible way to write her out, with the misery of a lengthy terminal illness.

She didn't say she wanted to leave after 20 years, she said "let's see at 20 if I get there".

Southeastdweller · 09/05/2026 08:49

As well as this story raising awareness, they know she has the talent to do a big and emotive story justice, after being sidelined for ages.

Denise is always excellent whatever the story is, but I agree that having Kim and Jack moping around as well is going to be hard. We had all that with Billy and Jay and Lexi when Lola was ill and it can become a depressing. Patrick too will be very upset , but at least he has Yolande to help him through it.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 10/05/2026 17:48

I'm watching the episode after the car crash

The whole ravi out of body thing was too hollyoaks for me 😪

Urgentbiscuitrequired · 10/05/2026 19:43

I think the exit for Lola was very well done and a good way to bow out. One of the better storylines in the last few years. I have two relatives that had Leukemia and had AML and sadly it took them very quickly. Just had a parent die of a very aggressive cancer which progressed very quickly, so seeing Sam's storyline and getting better was good, but it can be very aggressive, and the treatment very brutal, so they should show this.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 10/05/2026 19:45

My best to you @Urgentbiscuitrequired x

Southeastdweller · 10/05/2026 21:16

They haven’t had many characters with cancer, have they? Jean, Lola, Pat, Sam, Denise, Peggy and Alfie. Seems a bit strange for a show that’s been going for more than forty years.

What I’m dreading with Denise’s storyline is all the mournful bible quoting we’ll
get from Yolande. I know there’s a lot of love for her on these threads but I find her constant sighing and weary demeanour a bit tiresome tbh. Despite everything that’s happened to him, Patrick is usually very jovial.

MyWildOliveGoose · 11/05/2026 08:02

Ian’s tie in the cafe made me laugh in the instagram sneak peak this morning. Is it tucked in, or out? 🤣

I agree.
Also it will affect so many characters, Kim, Howie, Denzel, Chelsea, Yolande, Patrick, Josh, Jasmine, and Oscar who will be upset for Patrick. Then Jack, Amy, Ricky, which will spread to Lily, Charlie, Sam (although she is leaving). Then Phil because of Raymond. Maybe that's why Denise goes missing in the new year, because everyone will be depressed for her. Denise is surprisingly related/linked to almost everyone

Also Tanya, and Stuart.

storminabuttercup · 11/05/2026 08:46

Another one who will miss Denise!

I know everyone always says about babies in soaps looking older. But would you let your teeny tiny newborn on a soap set?

the80sweregreat · 11/05/2026 08:46

Stuart’s one was rare ( breast cancer) and he really struggled with it ( understandably )
I agree that Yolande may be annoying once she is told about Denise , but at least she may help Partick who will be devastated. It’ll be a tough story and Jack moping around won’t help. I don’t like his character much at the best of times !

the80sweregreat · 11/05/2026 08:49

I always imagine the parents of soap babies hovering around looking anxious ! No wonder the shots of the babies are short and they mostly use dolls with a crying soundtrack ( or empty blankets)

Shellingbynight · 11/05/2026 09:31

@GoldMoon we already know she's still there in 2027 as she's mentioned as being well enough to storm out of the house in the flashforward.

But I agree she may not be leaving, we don't know. Some people with AML do live longer than five years. It's unlikely, but this is EastEnders!

the80sweregreat · 11/05/2026 16:36

I don’t think that Eddie is too impressed by a basement ! He manages to get back into the fold though ( probably by saying he won’t change the will I suppose) I am assuming Nicola hasn’t told George the full story over the money…
Ian was good with Bea today despite all her lies later on :( she is a nightmare , I didn’t mind her at first either!
That was harsh of Partick to exclude Jasmine , but I can see why he feels like he does.
Why didn’t he take Yolande with him to the Caribbean?
