What most of us predicted about Ian and Elaine happened in today’s episode - they kissed. But she is nowhere near his type that we’ve seen over a 40 year span! Her, however, I can understand - feeling lonely and vulnerable. Harriet Thorpe is great at bringing out this side of Elaine.

Eddie wouldn't be released from prison unless he was seriously ill. His whole schtick is that because he's dying he doesn't have to return to prison, he's got compassionate leave to die 'at home' (by which he means at George's). There wouldn't be much point going through all this if he was in fact going to recover shortly and return to prison.

I don't believe he has much money. He just saw an opportunity to manipulate Nicola, who knows him less well than George.

South I agree re Ian and Elaine. I can see why she would be interested. He definitely would not. It's Zicki all over again, they keep mismatching couples.

We all guessed that they wouid put E ‘Laine and Ian together, but they are the odd couple!

I’m slightly leaning towards Eddie being genuine. Not so much for the writing because I can’t believe Gloria would have saved all that money but because the actor is conveying the niceness so well (and Eddie’s nasty side that we saw when he first appeared in the show).

Where are you seeing niceness in Eddie??!
He is blackmailing Nicola (with money he probably doesn't have) and he shuddered when the black nurse touched him.
It's all manipulation and control, he is effectively forcing George to look after his own abuser.

The genuineness about wanting to make amends with George.

But Nicola hasn’t done her due diligence so thinking about it that’s probably a plot device so we’ll see Eddie revealed as lying about the money when she dies eventually demand the money. I think the twist will be that he does genuinely love George so wasn’t lying about being sorry for treating him badly,

I don't think he wants to make amends with 'my boy' at all, he wants to manipulate him. He found he couldn't, but then he got a second chance with Nicola who has £££ signs in her eyes. (Terrible writing, suddenly the bar is broke and Nicola has to sell it, but oh look Eddie has money.)

But the money is irrelevant, he is using every way he can to find a way to wheedle George into looking after him.

I’m not sure why Nicola didn’t try a different route rather than ‘ I’m selling up’ ! She gave George 10k not that long ago without any paperwork and only a verbal agreement he wouid pay it back. Now she hasn’t got anything left. It doesn’t seem to add up, but businesses do go under overnight , so maybe she didn’t have many choices.
Id definitely want proof that Eddie has money and a change of the will before being discharged from hospital and maybe a chat to a doctor to say that it’s all true he only has a few weeks left.

If they did buy a flat on Jasmine Allen estate from the council, surely he would have tried to sell it ( you can buy and sell property from jail as I looked it up when Gray was put away !)
If it’s still a council place , I doubt he has much money , no more than a few thousand anyway.

Older women on EE do well copping off with younger men. This doesn’t usually happen in real life ime. Wonder how Bea will cope if Ian dumps her for E lane.

No, most men I have heard about often go for women much younger than them; there are probably lots of reasons for this , but I don’t want to start a row on here with my own opinions on that.

Oh I’ve copped off with younger men in my 40s!

So did I. But Elaine and Cindy are in their 60’s.

Michelle Collins is in her 60s 😳 but Cindy is in her 50s.

Cindy looks fabulous and I can see why men like her.
She has that flirty way about her that they like.

Max is 56, Cindy is 57, and although the actress is slightly older she doesn't look it does she? They work well together (for now!)

(Br)Ian is 57 and Elaine is 69 in a few weeks. I really cannot see he'd be interested in her romantically!

Cindy definitely looks younger than 57. It is harder to age people these days though as women tend to have more tweakments or treatments, dye their hair , wear modern clothes , go on diets. Women of that age when I was 9 or 10 ( so ages ago! ) always looked older , but it’s different now and more pressure to look younger and possibly more money to have things done as well.

I think Cindy looks really good but looks like she’s in her 60’s. And there’s nothing the matter with that. I haven’t been single in my 60’s but I have friends who are, and they say it’s very hard to meet anyone. Anyone decent anyway.

I have to say, I loveeeeee Sam and Denise’s friendship, made me laugh out loud yesterday when they said getting Denise to the dr didn’t require the same 20k bribe 😂

Sam and Dee work well. I do like Dee , she is flawed, but she’s such a good actress. Sam is also fab and always looks cool. 😎
Kim and Dee gossiping yesterday was funny.

I think most women would run a mile from Max and Ian , but they have money and Max is well groomed , so you can see why some may be interested in them!

I've missed a few days but E-laine and Ian! I suppose it's slightly more plausible than Zicki.

Most pairings are more plausible than Vicki and Zack.
She isn’t his type at all.
