Eeek is he from near where I live 🤣 I've not heard anyone say 'De ya know what I mean?' so much for 20 years. I'd have guessed Kent or Essex (the near Londin end)

To me it sounds like he has a touch of the Fens country accent, a bit of an Australian twang but is trying to sound cockney.

pouletvous · 23/04/2026 07:35

Danny sounds Suffolk / Norfolk to
me

def not London

pouletvous · 23/04/2026 07:38

Google says Danny is from Fakenham, Norfolk

his accent is what i would expect someone (young) from Norfolk to sound like

FuriousFire · 23/04/2026 07:39

Gia is such a coward. I think her main preoccupation is how she will be perceived by others. From the start she wanted to be seen as the strongest couple. And she has just about enough brain cells to see how badly she is coming across now, so she doesn’t want to be filmed or recorded speaking. Coward.

Sorry, I disagree. He has nothing like a North Norfolk accent. I know that area well - parents live there. The Norfolk accent is nice to hear. Danny's accent is far from this!

His accent is a hybrid of Mockney, Australia and god knows what else. Sounds awful.

FuzzyPuffling · 23/04/2026 08:10

I've noticed that the longer this goes on, the less Australian and the more "Geezer", Danny's accent becomes.

Yes, I do see that. He's definitely trying to hold onto his Brit accent. I hear a bit of a Londoner in there somewhere but quite a cliched one

Choux · 23/04/2026 08:51

I don’t think Gia will risk coming back as she can see there is a possibility of being dumped at final vows. She needs an out so she has got Scott to leave with her as ‘their love is so strong’

BIossomtoes · 23/04/2026 09:02

Brits living in English speaking countries usually try to hold on to their accents. My friends who have lived in California for decades have worked hard at it because it’s currency.

OvernightBloats · 23/04/2026 09:59

Some people living abroad don't realise how much their accent has changed until they return back home. Even if you try to hold onto your 'home' accent, it can slightly adapt to the country you are living in.

Also depends on who you are spending a lot of time with! Maybe Danny has spent a lot of time in London at some stage?

There are lot of examples of footballers working abroad and subconsciously picking up a strange accent. The latest example:
Harry Kane is mocked by fans after adopting strange 'German accent' - as he earns comparisons to infamous Steve McClaren blunder | Daily Mail Online

Harry Kane is mocked by fans after adopting strange 'German accent'

The striker was giving an interview from an ice bath in footage taken before Bayern's barnstorming 10-0 thrashing of Auckland City in the Club World Cup.

Danny is definitely from Fakenham as he’s been faking it since the honeymoon. Danny, you’re just not into her. Call it quits now.

Some people living abroad don't realise how much their accent has changed until they return back home.

They realise pretty soon when their friends comment that they still sound exactly the same as they did when they left 40 odd years ago.

Some people's accent change, some don't! I can understand why your friend has kept his as Americans apparently love the British accent.

Danny's is a mish-mash of accents. That's why it sounds so strange.

dotdotdotdash · 23/04/2026 12:01

Just catching up... 'I'm sorry you felt that way', classic non-apology from baby-buyer to Colin; and then narrowed his eyes at Colin in quite a mean way. Colin needs to run away...

WallaceinAnderland · 23/04/2026 12:38

I love that Colin doesn't take any shit from BB. He holds his ground, he's calm and reasonable. How is he still single?

Yes, it's confusing. I didn't pick up on the Norfolk accent, even though my DH is from there. I thought he was more West Country.

Then you have the Peaky Blinder vibe, and I'm expecting him to come out in a pearly jacket and say guvner a few times. No wonder we are all confused.

He's a dim. I think he skipped a lot of school.

CerealNameSwapper · 23/04/2026 13:00

Baby Buyer is horrible. He's a meanie. Hope Colin musters the courage to dump him.

The scene where Colin disagreed with BB about Juliette, and then quietly said "we don't have to have the same opinion" - BB looked absolute daggers at him. Colin is a sweetie ..

I hope Colin doesn’t let us down like Big Dave did.

Colin reminds me of Greg James. Kinda. BB didn’t like that Col didn’t support his views of the bitches.

FergoMcFergFace · 23/04/2026 16:15

I've lived in Norfolk for more than 20 years and I wouldn't have said his accent was from here. He's obviously got a bit of Aussie inflection (he's lived there eight years IIRC) and I'm sure he said in his VT before the wedding something about being a Cockney geezer, so I think it's an image he's curating for his Australian peers.

I also seem to remember his parents on the video call on his first episode having either Northern or East Midlands accents despite living in Norfolk - could have got that wrong though.

I find the weddings so boring but I always find at this stage I want to go back and see what a missed from those early episodes (I won't though - I'm not that sad and frankly I just don't care about this lot that much).

How could Racho find Stevo’s revolting low effort food meaningful or appealing in any way?! He couldn’t have tried less hard.

I thought that too.

I don't think it's a spoiler to say that I have now read that he was born in Staffs, brought up in London and parents now in Norfolk
