Crowd singing 'E Viva Espana' Grin.

I am, of course, now sitting singing. 'This year I'm off to sunny Spain'

DD2 has rolled her eyes.

Raahh · 25/04/2026 20:19

Daniil won- nice smley chat at the net, even after all the booing and aggro from the crowd.

StartupRepair · 26/04/2026 11:36

Poor Coco throwing up in her match with cerstea.

I hope there isn't some bug going around- I turned over just after it happened to hear the commentator say she had 'parted with her breakfast ' !

I'm watching the London Marathon- Steve Cram getting very over excited about 2 men running under 2 hours for the first time.

JaneJeffer · 26/04/2026 12:30

Well done Coco

Lore playing Tallon- ball nearly caught someone in the crowd then (not deliberately Grin).

Raahh · 26/04/2026 13:21

Lore seems to be having a few issues with his serve.
Was up a break, and has now lost it.

Fizzywinegum · 26/04/2026 13:26

Well done Coco

Is tennis the pukiest sport? It seems almost normal for players to be throwing up all the time Confused

Raahh · 26/04/2026 13:35

Finally got the setin the bag.

Jasmine having a better day in the doubles today, alongside Sara.

Fizzywinegum · 26/04/2026 13:35

Apparently shrimp tacos could be the culprit! I’m not a fan of sea food (or a tennis player) but I think I would definitely be giving them a wide berth Envy

No, I don't do sea food.
Love fish- most fish, anyway.

Raahh · 26/04/2026 14:27

I jinxed Jasmine and Sara, who went on to lose their match.
But Forza! Lore- could win the match in the next game.

Raahh · 26/04/2026 14:33

Well done Lore.

Fizzywinegum · 26/04/2026 14:37

Well done Lorenzo!

Raahh · 26/04/2026 17:18

Well done Arthur.

And I'm sure he will be pleased to hear, that Robbie thinks this is the best hair do he has had for a while. Grin.

Raahh · 26/04/2026 17:28

Gigi is interviewing him- yes, Arthur does gave great hair.
Stay away from the clippers.

They are bigging up Norris again. Which court is his again? Grin

I'm more interested in the Jodar/ Fonseca match later.

Joe Salisbury /Francisco Cabral are a set up in their doubles match. Not counting my chickens yet though (after jinxing Sara and Jasmine!)

Raahh · 26/04/2026 17:56

Well done, Joe and Francisco!

Raahh · 26/04/2026 21:09

I had hoped I would get to see the Jodar/Fonseca match- but the Rybakina /Zheng match is going on for ages.

Fizzywinegum · 26/04/2026 21:30

Yes same here Raahh - this match is taking a long time and I’m tired - not sure that I’ll see much (if any) of the Fonseca/Jodar match - I still haven’t properly seen NuRafa

I seem destined just to watch Cam Norrie Hmm

The things are going, Norris is going to win.

Grin

Grin

I’ve managed to stay up so far - it seems to be living up to the hype - wish it had started earlier - Fonseca is more experienced but NuRafa is good - his arms (levers) are very long

Laura Robson has managed to run the London marathon in between her presenting - she looked annoyingly good after running 26 miles in a good time - I’ve not seen Tim H for a while - he does usually pop up in Rome (for the ice cream Grin)

Raahh · 27/04/2026 07:57

Fizzy. I heard them mention Laura running the marathon, when I was watching it- they didn't show her though. They were very focused on Daddy Pig Grin.

It was a very good time.

(I cried, several times, during the coverage- it's a very humbling experience hearing the stories of some of the runners.).

I failed to watch the match- I am glad NuRafa won- he is slowly getting used to his new fame I think. I feel like he needs to 'grown into' himself a bit- he has very braod shoulder that this arms don't seem to match (though they are long). Jodar /Fonseca are 1/2 in the 'Next Gen' race- with NuRafa at the top. I might watch a bit of the match, as i recorded it (despite knowing the score).

Casper/ADF are playing early- which is annoying, as I have to go out- not for long, but I will miss a chunk of it. I really want both of them to win- but Casper needs the points more at this stage, being the defending champion (and pants on grass, so he can't make up for any losses laterGrin).

Casper has competition in the 'best Norwegian camp'- at last! Daniil is playing Nicolai Budkov Kjaer.

Fizzywinegum · 27/04/2026 08:20

I didn’t watch the marathon Raahh - I’m always in awe if anyone who can do a marathon (or even a half marathon!) - it is usually quite emotional

My DS’s have done marathons- including the Berlin one - I just go along to watch (which is tiring enough! Grin)

I just watched the first set last night - Jodar looked a bit overwhelmed at first but soon settled into it - yes he looks as if he hasn’t quite grown into his body yet but he’s only 19 - I think it would be worth watching some of the replay - it made me excited about tennis again!

Yes I saw there was another Norwegian in town!

Raahh · 27/04/2026 08:36

Watching the marathon ( from my sofa) was more than enough for me. I cannot run. Walking the dog is as fast as I get( and his arthritic knees mean that's not fast).Grin

Spanish tennis is in good shape, I am excited - poor ADF must be feeling a bit pushed out ( he was sidelined from Davis Cup last year- woth the new crop of players, he will be fighting for survival!).

IceandIndigo · 27/04/2026 09:42

I didn't watch much tennis in the weekend. DS and DH ran the mini marathon on Saturday, which was good fun. I was supporting from the sidelines — first time I've been grateful to have a fractured toe, because I naturally couldn't volunteer to be the supporting adult runner Grin

I did see Joao vs NuRafa, which was an interesting match with several momentum swings. It seemed like Joao would take it after the second set, but Rafa had other ideas. I noticed David Ferrer was there and smiling like a Cheshire cat by the end, he definitely feels Spain's Davis Cup chances are looking up Raahh.
