Now he’s quizzing Tim about the cramp situation

Grin Aurelie was probably scared of the reaction of the Italian crowds.

Thing is- either Jannik cools downtoo much now, and it benefits Daniil- or he gets a massage that helps the cramp. If it had just been a shower, and they had stayed out, I think Daniil may have been ok.

IceandIndigo · 15/05/2026 22:08

Well that was all quite entertaining. DH and I were getting very excited when Daniil won the second set, with Jannik hobbling around like a crippled gazelle. And then Daniil sort of went away at the beginning of the third, while Jannik dug in. And now it's rained off. Boo. Probably Jannik will have a massage and a good night's sleep and tomorrow the match will be over in two minutes.

Still, at least it was competitive. Felt sorry for Luciano earlier, he clearly had nothing left in the tank. Still a good week for him, and I'm sure he's made a lot of new fans.

Raahh · 15/05/2026 22:21

Yes, it was all looking good for a while Ice.

'Injured gazelle' is a good description Grin.

I have no doubt at all, that Jannik will be quick out of the blocks tomorrow, with no signs of any nausea or fatigue at all.

Raahh · 16/05/2026 14:56

Gigi and Laura are discussing if Jannik was actually having a panic attack last night.

Would be interesting if he had been.

Raahh · 16/05/2026 15:06

The rain really did help Jannik yesterday, and (having watched the recording of the match) I think the 'injury' break was a bit iffy. I'm not surprised Daniil was questioning it.

Come on Daniil- make a match of it.

Raahh · 16/05/2026 15:10

This could all be over very quickly.

Fizzywinegum · 16/05/2026 15:12

It was quite disturbing watching everything that Jannik had gone through in his matches Raahh (including puking in a corner Hmm)

It did look as if he was struggling to breathe Sad

I’ve actually managed to switch on at the right time - although not sure how much is left of this match - I even saw Tim Grin

Raahh · 16/05/2026 15:20

It does make you wonder what is going on with Jannik- if he is struggling this much in 3 set matches, he will have more issues at RG during 5 sets.

I'm supposed to be going shopping.

Raahh · 16/05/2026 15:21

Well done Jannik.

I just hope Casper can make it a match tomorrow.

Fizzywinegum · 16/05/2026 15:27

Well done Jannik - saw my 10 minutes of tennis Grin

I wonder if the pressure is getting to him

Raahh · 16/05/2026 19:59

Well done Elina,

Another runner up spot for Coco.

ChessieFL · 16/05/2026 20:38

I watched a bit of the match earlier but missed the third set. Looks like Elina did deserve to win from the highlights I’ve seen.

IceandIndigo · 17/05/2026 12:53

I'm sure Jannik feels nerves and pressure, he's just very good at hiding it. He has always shown some vulnerability in matches where he's pushed physically, but it must be a bit concerning for his team that he's experiencing these struggles so early in matches at the moment. In both the match against Andrey and the one against Daniil, he had quite a big physical drop off between the first and the second set. Because he's so good, he was able to win anyway, but I do wonder how he will fare in 4-5 set matches in Paris.

I would love Casper to win today, but I do feel he's just a relatively comfortable match up for Jannik, more so than Daniil is. He has never beaten Jannik. It's the Norwegian national day though, so fingers crossed for a historic victory!

Yeek

I'm not sure what to make of that stat, Jane Grin.

I suppose if you are going to play someone, and you are going for a record, beating Casper is the way to go Grin.

Raahh · 17/05/2026 15:31

Well done Bolelli and Vavavoom.

The Italian fans are going to be very pumped up for the men's final.

Feel very sorry for Casper!

Raahh · 17/05/2026 15:56

Casper is being written off by Tim and his mates, before he's even stepped on court. I mean. we know it's going to be tough, but give the bloke a chance Grin.

IceandIndigo · 17/05/2026 16:17

I guess Casper’s too nice a guy to get in the way of other people’s streaks and records Grin
